One of the most exhilarating additions to Matsuri Manila 2025 was the Drift event, a two-day spectacle that captivated attendees with its blend of speed, skill, and style. Held at a track within the Quirino Grandstand, the event brought together professional drifters adding a dynamic edge to the festival’s celebration of Japanese culture.

Maki Otsuki: A Legendary Performance

A major highlight of the evening was the performance by Maki Otsuki, the original singer of One Piece’s classic ending theme “Memories”, this set was also a highlight of day 1 performance. Her performance was described by many as the most touching and iconic moment of Matsuri Manila 2025.

NicDroid Electrifies the Matsuri Stage

One of the standout performances on Day 2 came from NicDroid, A Filipino DJ known for blending anime beats, J-pop, and EDM. His high-energy set during the evening electrified the crowd despite being the last act on a delayed schedule.

NicDroid seamlessly mixed tracks from popular anime like Dandadan, memes and mainstream audio with club-style drops, creating an amazing vibe that had festivalgoers jumping and partying like there was no tomorrow. His performance wasn’t just music it was a celebration of otaku culture with a dance floor twist.

The Future of Matsuri Manila

During the Day 1 coverage, the organizers shared their hopes for Matsuri Manila to grow even bigger in the coming years. Their vision isn’t just about repeating the success of 2025—it’s about evolving into something far more ambitious.
