From the outfit that brought the country’s biggest singing sensation like Sarah Geronimo, Sharon Cunete, Regine Velasquez, Rachelle Ann Go, and Mark Bautista, Viva Communications brings you new reality singing contest on TV5, “Born To Be A Star”.
The new one-hour show will be hosted by multi-awarded singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid together with Viva’s princess singer-actress Yassi Pressmana and singing heartthrob Mark Bautista.
The contest will be judge by four of the Philippines music icons: concert queen Pops Fernandez, rockstar Rico Blanco, acoustic sensation Aiza Seguerra and pinoy rapper Andrew E.
PRIZES
The grand winner will recieved a total of P 3 Million in prizes: P1M in cash, P1M management contract with Viva Artist Agency and TV5 and a real estate property worth P1M.
AUDITIONS
Auditions are open to male and female applicants aged 13-18. Venues and dates for the auditions are:
- January 9 & 10: SM City Bicutan
- January 16 & 17: SM City Sta. Mesa
- January 23 & 24: SM City San Mateo
- January 30 & 31: SM City Novaliches
Five major auditions will be also held in the big cities like Davao, Cebu, Dagupan, Batangas and Metro Manila starting March.
FORMAT
Each week, four contestants will be featured with their stories. Contestants that will make it through the weekly round will undergo make-over session and mentoring from some of the country’s well know vocal coaches.
They will move to the monthly round and the winner of the monthly round goes to the finals night.
A primer will be shown prior to the pilot episode.
