The recently concluded Davao Event Partners’ Familiarization Tour treated participants to an immersive experience of unparalleled luxury and hospitality.
The event commenced with a grand drumbeater performance, welcoming guests into the tropical oasis of Discovery Samal with warm smiles and refreshing welcome drinks. General Manager Stanley Lau personally greeted each guest, setting the tone for an extraordinary day.
Amidst the cool island breeze, guests were escorted to the Carcacoles Convention Center, the newly opened 1000-person capacity convention space boasting a stunning view of Davao Gulf, ideal for grand celebrations and conventions. The Familiarization Tour began with a heartfelt message from General Manager Stanley Lau, expressing delight in hosting esteemed event partners from Davao and showcasing the unmatched beauty and luxury of Discovery Samal.
Following the message, heads of departments for the operations team were introduced, including Owner’s Representative Ms. Celina Lim, Senior Sous Chef Neal Roa, Director of Rooms Ms. Bing Burgos, Executive Housekeeper Ms. Chona Montemayor, Security Head Mr. Richie Flores, and Director of Engineering Engr. Arjun Cellona.
The Sales and Marketing team was also introduced, led by Director of Sales Ms. Katherine Dizon, Associate Director of Sales – Events and Conventions Ms. Chatty So, Senior Sales Managers Ms. Loreta Jabilles and Mr. Christian Panimdim, Events Manager for MICE Ms. Bullet Laguna, Sales Manager Mr. Francis Morales, Sales Coordinator Ms. Riza Provido, Marketing Communications Manager Ms. Graziella Izza Cadiente, Assistant Digital Marketing Manager Mr. Joshua Jon Jaralba, Graphic Artist Ms. Dennise Ellison Carcueva, and Marketing and Communications Officer Ms. Thea Faye Lois Garcia.
Prominent event partners were invited to the stage for a quick photo opportunity, followed by an interactive group dance performance led by the talented Ms. Bullet, a tradition at Discovery Samal known as ‘Rara,’ which had everyone smiling and swaying to the beat.
The atmosphere was filled with laughter and merriment as Mr. Panimdim presented Discovery Samal’s Your Dream Wedding Packages, followed by Ms. Dizon’s introduction to the resort’s rooms and amenities. Engaging discussions arose from insightful questions and concerns raised by guests.

The event concluded with an exquisite Asian-themed buffet lunch featuring Chinese appetizers, Thailand’s pad thai, and Filipino delicacies such as lechon. Drumbeaters from Grant’s Event and Production added an extra level of entertainment, making the feast an unforgettable experience for all.
