Toyota Collaborates with Santa Rosa and Pasay Cities Offer Free Community Shuttle

The Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation has collaborated with the City Government of Santa Rosa and the City Government of Pasay to introduce the Toyota Community Shuttle (TCS). This service, accessible through a digital platform, offers a free on-demand, shared transportation solution.

Under individual agreements, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is supplying each city government with a fleet of five (5) brand-new, air-conditioned Toyota Lite Ace units designed to operate flexible routes within their respective city limits.

The TCS initiative is scheduled to offer complimentary rides for a year, starting from December 1, 2023, in Santa Rosa City and December 2, 2023, in Pasay City.

TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto expressed, “TMP is introducing the TCS as part of our corporate social responsibility efforts and in commemoration of TMP’s 35th anniversary. Through TCS, our aim is to contribute to enhancing the quality of life in these communities by providing free, convenient, efficient, and safe mobility.”

To access the TCS service, users will utilize the ‘myToyota Shuttle PH’ app, a flagship mobility solution offered by Toyota Mobility Solutions Philippines, Inc. (TMSPH), a division of TMP.

This app enables efficient on-demand shuttle management, optimizing route planning and seat reservations. Commuters can easily book their rides, track real-time locations, and check arrival times of the TCS units via this downloadable mobile application.

Okamoto further stated, “Our goal is to create positive social impact in our beneficiary communities by offering free mobility. The TCS not only enhances the commuting experience but also complements ongoing efforts toward transforming into smart and sustainable eco-cities by fostering increased connectivity and mobility.”

Both Santa Rosa City, recognized as a “Next Wave City,” and Pasay City, renowned as a “Travel City,” are spearheading initiatives to evolve into high-level smart and sustainable eco-cities, respectively. These cities embrace innovation and digitalization, aiming to enhance the quality of life across various aspects, including transportation—aligning with TMP’s vision of providing more accessible, efficient, and safer mobility solutions.

TMP celebrated its 35th year in August 2023, reaffirming its commitment to economic and societal development through automotive manufacturing, distribution, and mobility-related services.

Globally, Toyota envisions diversified and innovative solutions centered around the “Connected, Autonomous/Automated, Shared, and Electrified” (CASE) concepts for future mobility.
