Prime Video has exciting news for Filipino audiences and comedy lovers worldwide! The highly-anticipated Amazon Original comedy series, “Comedy Island Philippines,” will premiere on Prime Video in the Philippines and over 240 countries and territories on August 31. Produced by Amazon Studios in collaboration with BASE Entertainment Asia, this unique six-part series blends scripted and unscripted elements to create a truly unforgettable comedic adventure.

“Comedy Island Philippines” brings together a stellar cast of seven comedians, actors, and social media celebrities, including Carlo Aquino, Rufa Mae Quinto, Andrea Brillantes, Jerald Napoles, Cai Cortez, Awra Briguela, Justine Luzares, and Drew Arellano. The story unfolds when they find themselves marooned on the mysterious Tawa-Tawa Island, which reemerges after a century to host the mythical “Centennial Games.” Unbeknownst to them, they become unexpected participants in these games and must rely on their improvisational skills to survive and escape the island. Engaging in unscripted and unpredictable comedic scenarios, the celebrities go all out to entertain the island’s citizens and secure the most votes, hoping for a chance to return home.

Quark Henares, head of Originals, Philippines at Prime Video, expressed enthusiasm for the show’s unique concept, stating, “Comedy Island Philippines sets the tone and standard of the authentic Filipino stories and genres we want to share with our audiences at home and abroad, and our commitment to the local TV and film industry. Comedy Island is an ambitious format, a hybrid between reality, comedy, and adventure, shot on an island with massive sets, which features both the best comedic talent from the two major networks in the Philippines, and the new emerging voices including the up-and-coming social media superstars. We can’t wait to entertain our Pinoy audiences with this show.”
