Manila Hotel’s Traditional Annual Tree Lighting Celebration

The holiday season at The Manila Hotel kicked off with a festive celebration deeply rooted in Filipino traditions during their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 9.

Taking center stage in the festivities was a magnificent Christmas Tree adorned with meticulously crafted opulent golden Ilang-Ilang blooms, paying homage to the official flower of the Grand Dame. The color palette, featuring a harmonious blend of gold, natural tones, and vibrant red, created a visually stunning display capturing the essence of the season. The mastermind behind the concept and execution of this holiday décor was Mr. Rachy Cuna, The Manila Hotel’s Creative & Design Director.

The ceremony was graced by prominent figures such as The Manila Hotel Chairman Basilio Yap, Vice Chairman Dr. Emilio Yap III, President Atty. Joey Lina, and Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta. Esteemed guests included City of Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna Pangan, City of Manila Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto, Department of Tourism NCR Regional Director Sharlene Zabala-Batin, US Ambassador H.E. MaryKay Carlson, Nigeria Ambassador H.E. Folakemi Akinleye, and Miss Philippines Air 2023 Kerri Reilly. The Office of the President Chorale added to the festive atmosphere by serenading the audience with traditional Christmas carols.
