Visa, Jollibee and Maya executives launch the “Tap-Sarap with Visa” promotion at Jollibee’s 1,000th store in Bonifacio Global City.

In a landmark move, Jollibee, one of the most popular fast food chains in the Philippines, has partnered with Visa to enable cashless payments at over 1,000 of its physical stores nationwide. This is the first time Jollibee has accepted card payments in its physical stores. To celebrate the partnership, Visa and Jollibee have launched the ‘Tap-Sarap with Visa’ promotion, powered by Maya Business.

From February 15 to March 1, 2023, customers who use a Visa prepaid, debit, or credit card to purchase food items worth a minimum of PHP 500 at any participating Jollibee store will receive a complimentary treat such as a Cheesy Yumburger, Jolly Spaghetti, Tuna Pie, or Peach Mango Pie. The promotion is applicable to dine-in, take-out, and drive-through transactions.

The partnership is in response to the growing preference for cashless payments among Filipinos. Visa’s Consumer Payment Attitudes Study, conducted in August to September 2021, revealed that 84% of Filipino respondents have already tried going cashless this year, with 60% carrying less cash in their wallets. Among the various cashless payment options, card payments, both online and at physical merchants, continue to be the preferred choice for many.

Visa and Jollibee are teaming up to offer an exclusive deal for the month of love, and everyone is invited to join in the celebration with their loved ones. By accepting Visa cards at Jollibee restaurants in the Philippines, the aim is to encourage more Filipinos to embrace the advantages of going cashless, such as enjoying a hassle-free experience when paying for goods and services. Jeff Navarro, Visa Country Manager for the Philippines and Guam, expressed excitement for the future rollout of cashless payments with Visa to more Jollibee stores.

Dorothy Dee-Ching, VP and Head of Marketing of Jollibee Philippines, shared that the partnership with Visa is aimed at providing their loyal customers with a more enjoyable and convenient dining experience. Going cashless has numerous benefits, and for this love month, customers can treat themselves to their favorite Jollibee snack with ease.
