Jollibee launched the Happy Birthday Pilipinas Project and has asked Pinoys “Anong Gift mo sa Pilipinas?” in commemoration of the 117th Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2015.  After invoking Filipino pride with their Foreignoy campaign last year and declaring ang “Sarap Maging Pinoy”, the country’s leading fast food chain appealed to the Filipino youth to voice out their commitment via social media and to spring into action thru simple acts  what they can do for their country as their gift on its birthday.

“Being proudly Filipino brand, we’d like to enjoin every Pinoy, especially the youth to celebrate our country’s birthday in an extraordinary way.  With the Happy Birthday Pilipinas Project, we’re encouraging everyone not just to express that ang “Sarap Maging Pilipino”, but to take action and do their own part in giving back to their country,” said Vice President for Marketing Harvey Ong.

Jollibee prepared a special birthday cake for the occasion.  It has used the commitment expressed by the Filipinos and Pinoys at heart on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #HappyBdayPilipinas to decorate the cake.  The birthday cake was unveiled as part of a simple yet symbolic Independence Day program at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite, where the Philippine flag was first hoisted and the Marcha Nacional Filipina was played before Filipinos in 1898.

Present in the event were Camarines Sur Third District Representative Leni-Gerona Robredo, Cavite Governor Juanito Victor Remulla and Jollibee representatives headed by South Luzon Regional Business Unit Head, Bambi Bejo.
