Dusit International, a prominent hotel and property development company in Thailand, has appointed Mr. Jagdeep Thakral as the General Manager of dusitD2 Naseem Resort Jabal Akhdar and its adjacent adventure park in Oman.
Mr. Thakral is a seasoned leader with a remarkable track record of accomplishments in the hospitality industry. Throughout his career, he has held key leadership positions at IHG Hotels and Resorts, including Area General Manager for Indonesia, where he oversaw operations at several flagship hotels in Jakarta. He also served as the Area General Manager for Holiday Inn Express in Bangkok, where he successfully managed five hotels in different suburbs while concurrently serving as the General Manager of Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit.
With extensive experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Thakral has also held roles such as General Manager of IHG Hotels Pyeongchang in South Korea, General Manager of Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre, and Resident Manager of Holiday Inn Resort Penang, Malaysia. Having graduated from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, India, with a major in Hotel Management, he brings substantial expertise in Food and Beverage, having worked in various F&B management positions for Starwood and IHG from 1987 to 2009.
Mr. Thakral has a strong passion for creating employment and training opportunities for individuals with disabilities. He delivered a speech on this topic at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in 2013 and was honored with the UN ESCAP-Sasakawa Award for Disability-Inclusive Business in 2014 in Bangkok.
Before joining Dusit, Mr. Thakral served as the General Manager of The Grand New Delhi, where he successfully repositioned the hotel in the luxury segment by enhancing the product and standardizing systems and processes. He assumed his new role as General Manager of dusitD2 Naseem Resort Jabal Akhdar in April of this year.

Launched in 2021, dusitD2 Naseem Resort is situated within an 8,000 sq m Adventure Park on the Saiq Plateau in Oman’s renowned Jabal Akhdar area, a mere five-minute drive from the “Grand Canyon of the Middle East” and two hours by car from Muscat International Airport. The resort boasts 252 beautifully decorated rooms and suites, and its contemporary design harmoniously integrates with the breathtaking natural surroundings, fully embracing its unique mountain location.
