Grab Philippines increases driver recruitment efforts meet growing passenger demand

  • The leading superapp in the Philippines rolls out the bonus scheme for new GrabCar driver partners following the opening of 4,433 new TNVS slots in January 2023
  • Grab aims to help improve passengers’ booking experience on the app by onboarding more driver-partners on the platform.

In an effort to enhance the overall experience for its passengers, Grab Philippines is actively recruiting new drivers to join its platform. The company is committed to expanding its driver base in order to meet the growing demand for transportation services.

In response to the recent opening of 4,433 TNVS slots by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on January 9, 2023, Grab Philippines is offering significant bonuses to new driver applicants with 6-seater vehicles, as well as legal assistance. The bonus is worth up to Php 10,000 for 6-seater vehicles, and Php 6,000 for 4-seater vehicles. The bonus is only available for TNVS licenses registered through Grab.

Due to the challenges brought about by the pandemic, Grab Philippines has seen a decline in its driver-partner base, resulting from both repossessions of loaned cars, and partners exploring alternative economic opportunities.

With the reopening of the economy, Grab Philippines is looking to address this shortage of driver-partners and meet the increasing demand for its GrabCar services by launching a new initiative. The company is optimistic that this will help attract new driver-partners and improve its service to its customers.

Grab Philippines Senior Director for Strategy and Operations Ronald Roda, shares: As the leading ride-hailing company in the Philippines, we are fully committed to providing safe, reliable, and accessible transportation to more passengers. We recognize the crucial role that efficient mobility plays in the daily lives of commuters, and are dedicated to improving the ride-hailing experience for our customers. We are grateful to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for this opportunity to expand our services and we are optimistic that these new TNVS slots will greatly benefit Filipinos who are returning to work and traveling for leisure. We look forward to the continued growth of TNVS slots as the country continues to recover from the pandemic.
