Have you tried the EDSA Free Wi-Fi Internet Project?

Did you know that more than 230,000 of the 444,044 daily MRT-3 commuters access and connect to the EDSA Free Wi-Fi internet?

The EDSA Free Wi-Fi Internet project is a part of President Duterte’s commitment to improving the availability of Internet services in the country. The target coverage of the free Wi-fi service is 24 kilometers stretch of EDSA.

The EDSA Free Wi-Fi project is in collaboration with the following agencies, companies and government units that includes: DICT, NTC, DOTr MRT 3, Metro Rail Transit Development Corp., Light Rail Transit Authority, Light Rail Manila Corp., Metro Manila Development Authority, Department of Public Works and Highways, Manila Electric Co., Philippine Reclamation Authority, the local government units of Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasay and Quezon City, A&A, PLDT-Smart and Globe.

According to the speed tests conducted by NTC using the OOKLA speedtest last July 6 to 7, 2017, the  average download and upload speeds of 156.6Mbps and 135.8Mbps respectively. Speed varies in the times of day depend on the location and the time of day.

Ortigas station has the fastest download speed of 325.48 Mbps while Magallanes has the highest upload speed at  310.57 Mbps.

Taft Avenue, North Avenue, Cubao, Ayala, Shaw Boulevard and Boni Avenue are the MRT stations with the heaviest usage of the Free Wifi.
