Coins.ph Selected Co-Presenter Philippines’ Inaugural Bitcoin Island Retreat by Pouch.ph

The Bitcoin Island Retreat will give attendees the opportunity to interact with Bitcoin builders, investors and enthusiasts in the world’s Bitcoin nirvana.

Pouch.ph, the Philippines’ pioneer in processing payments through the Lightning Network, has partnered with Coins.ph, the country’s leading digital wallet and crypto exchange platform, to host the inaugural Bitcoin Island Retreat in Boracay. Taking place from March 27th to 29th, 2023, the event will bring together bitcoin experts, developers, investors, and enthusiasts from around the world for networking and discussions.

Boracay, a tropical island, has become the largest bitcoin community in the world, offering over 250 locations where attendees can pay for dining, resorts, water sports, and drinks using bitcoin. Thanks to the Lightning Network, bitcoin payments in Boracay are fast and free. Pouch.ph allows merchants to accept lightning payments and receive immediate, final settlement in Philippine pesos without incurring any fees.

At the retreat, participants will have the opportunity to engage with trailblazing figures in the bitcoin industry, including Ethan Rose, the CEO of Pouch.ph, and Elijah Tan, the Vice President of Operations at Coins.ph. Other speakers include Jack Lee, founder of HCM Capital and early investor in Digital Currency Group; Stephan Livera, Head of Education at Swan Bitcoin; Augustus Ilag, former head of Sequoia Capital’s Southeast Asia crypto division and cryptocurrency investor; Mike Jarmuz, General Partner at Lightning Ventures; and Jiro Reyes, founder of Bitskwela and crypto educator.

Attendees will also have the chance to win a bitcoin prize by finding the 12-word seed phrase to a private key owned by Dread Pirate Nakamoto, which is hidden around the island.
