Congratulations to Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, the Miss Universe Philippines 2015 or Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2015!
The road to this epic moment of victory was a long winded one. Pia first entered the Bb. Pilipinas pageant in 2013 and she only bagged the runner up position with no crown at all.
Then in 2014, she joined again for the second time. Although she won a lot of special awards during the coronation night, she did not make it to the final cut and went home empty handed and very disappointed.
It was a dark year for Pia, disappointed, frustrated with the results.
Last November 2014, I interviewed her during the Timex event in BGC. This is my interview of Pia:
With the frustration of not winning 2014, she did not feel like joining the pageant again!
The 2015 came and to everyone’s surprise during the last part of the application for the 2015 candidates, she changed her mind and decided to try her luck again.
At the Binibining Pilipinas 2015 Screening Day 3 held this January 10, 2015, the official Facebook Page of Bb. Pilipinas Pageant, posted a photo of Pia Wurtzbach at the screening of candidates. She was confirmed as one of the official candidates and was assigned number 10 for 2015.
It’s great that she changed her mind and decided to join the 2015 Bb. Pilipinas Pageant! “AYOKONG PAGSISIHAN SA HULI NG HINDI AKO LUMALABAN” says Pia in her status post in her Facebook page.
Joining for the 3rd time, she followed the current BB. Pilipinas Universe MJ Lastimosa who joined for the 3rd time and got the coveted crown. Like MJ, Pia got the Miss Universe Philippines crown after 3 attempts.
