10 yrs Journey Ramen Nagi: A Bowl to Thriving Community Flavor

The allure of ramen lies in its warm broth, tantalizing noodle texture, and the burst of flavors encapsulated in every spoonful, creating an irresistible craving that lingers.

More than a dish, ramen symbolizes camaraderie among friends and families, uniting them through a shared culinary experience. This ethos drives Chef Satoshi Ikuta, the visionary behind Ramen Nagi, whose dream has always been to forge connections globally through the universal language of ramen.

Ikuta’s devotion to ramen burgeoned during his youth, culminating in over a decade of apprenticeship across various iconic Hakata ramen establishments. His unyielding passion led to a daring initiative known as “aida kari,” where he commandeered bar spaces weekly to establish an impromptu ramen spot. This enterprising spirit propelled him to victory in a contest, securing a coveted spot in Tokyo’s renowned Tachikawa Ramen Square. Subsequent triumphs followed in Shibuya and Shinjuku Golden Gai.

In December 2013, Chef Ikuta’s vision traversed oceans, landing on the vibrant streets of Manila. Collaborating with Erickson and Roxanne Farillas, Winnie Chua-Go, and Michael Kho, the inaugural Ramen Nagi at SM Aura introduced authentic Hakata ramen to the Philippines.

The past decade witnessed Ramen Nagi’s string of milestones: the launch of the Ebi King in 2014, followed by the prestigious People’s Choice Award from Zomato in 2015. Continuing their success, they introduced the Manila King in 2017, tailor-made for Filipino tastes. Determined to extend the joy of ramen to all, Ramen Nagi innovated with ramen kits in 2020, allowing enthusiasts to relish their signature dishes at home.

For younger aficionados, the Ramen Nagi Kiddie Meal debuted in 2021, making ramen enjoyable and accessible for children. And for those on the move, Hot Nagi-to-Go offered a convenient way to relish their delectable ramen anytime, anywhere.

Beyond the Philippines, Ramen Nagi expanded its horizons, inaugurating its maiden store in Singapore in 2017, and subsequently venturing into the US, sharing their passion for ramen with a global audience. Today, the brand spans over 60 locations worldwide, including 41 in the Philippines.

A Decade of Ramen Excellence

Celebrating its ten-year sojourn in the Philippines, Ramen Nagi embraces inclusivity while fueling innovation. Their introduction of vegan ramen caters to the burgeoning demand for plant-based options, ensuring that everyone can savor the essence of ramen.

Collaborations with distinguished Tokyo ramen establishments like Ramen No. 11, Antcicada, and Inosho birthed novel ramen experiences for loyal patrons and enthusiasts alike.

Erickson Farillas, the driving force behind Ramen Nagi’s Philippine journey, eloquently encapsulated the brand’s remarkable voyage: “In the past decade, Ramen Nagi has witnessed a tapestry of stories. We’ve witnessed bonds forged over the comfort of our steaming ramen bowls, partaking in celebrations from birthdays to proposals, playing a small yet meaningful role in people’s lives.”

“But our odyssey continues. Ramen Nagi remains steadfast in upholding unrivaled standards of quality and innovation, ceaselessly pushing the boundaries of ramen creation, surpassing expectations,” he affirmed.

The zenith of these milestones was commemorated through a special event, “Ramen Nagi X: A Decade of Excellence,” held at their inaugural SM Aura store. Guests witnessed Chef Ikuta’s dedication firsthand as he crafted a two-day limited edition bowl, The Wagyu King, exclusively curated for the occasion.

Indulge in pure Japanese delight! Ramen Nagi’s Wagyu King harmoniously blends two of Japan’s esteemed pleasures, featuring a fusion of beef and pork tonkotsu broth, handmade noodles, and premium A4 Japanese Wagyu from Miyagi prefecture, the heartland of Wagyu. This exclusive king priced at P1,010 is available for only 2 days at SM Aura from December 13-14, 2023.

In commemoration of their 10th anniversary in the Philippines, Ramen Nagi presents a special Butao treat for only PHP 10 with any one ramen purchase (limited to the first 100 customers).

This exclusive offering is available on December 15, 2023, starting 6 PM, across all Ramen Nagi branches nationwide.

Ramen Nagi’s decade-long journey transcends serving a mere bowl of ramen; it embodies a celebration of shared narratives and laughter over steaming bowls of broth and noodles.
