Design That Stands the Test of Time. Design Born for Space.

Xiaomi EV approaches vehicle design with longevity in mind, and the design philosophy behind Xiaomi SkyNomad can be summed up in one principle: form follows function.

While traditional large SUVs typically finalize their styling, powertrain, and chassis before allocating whatever space remains to the interior, Xiaomi SkyNomad takes the opposite approach. Here, function comes first, with every design decision tied to a specific spatial requirement.

1. Bold, Upright Proportions—Every Line Serves the Space

That spatial philosophy is immediately evident in the vehicle’s exterior. Xiaomi SkyNomad’s squared-off proportions are effectively a reflection of the cabin within—an SUV exterior designed around MPV-level interior volume.

The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max measures 5,285 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and 1,825 mm tall, with a 3,080 mm wheelbase. The Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 Max measures 4,960 mm × 1,998 mm × 1,765 mm, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase.

Three key lines define the SUV’s upright stance: a flat roofline that maximizes second- and third-row headroom; a continuous waistline that extends the vehicle’s profile; and a rising sill line that raises the visual center of gravity for a more commanding road presence.

The front and rear lights sit at nearly the same height, giving the vehicle a stable, balanced, and premium appearance.

A rounded-rectangle design motif carries across the headlights, taillights, door handles, and side cameras, creating a cohesive and orderly visual language. The dragonfly-shaped headlights reinterpret the classic cross pattern on the front fascia, while the halo taillight adopts an inverted-U design.

Xiaomi SkyNomad incorporates more than 140 aerodynamic optimizations, including a standard active grille across the range. The N90 Max achieves a drag coefficient of 0.255.

Smart electric doors can be opened through touch or voice commands, while the rear doors open to nearly 90 degrees for easier entry and exit. A 360-degree anti-collision system uses AI to detect obstacles around open doors and can actively resist opening or issue a warning.

Second- and third-row privacy curtains provide additional cabin privacy, while an optional electric side step made from aluminum alloy supports up to 300 kg per side and has been tested through 100,000 opening and closing cycles. The step is designed to make entry easier, particularly for children and older passengers.

2. Premium Materials Throughout. A Cabin That Feels Warm and Elevated.

Drawing inspiration from residential interior design, Xiaomi SkyNomad’s cabin is designed to create a simple, refined, and homelike atmosphere.

A cabinet-style center console extends 1,530 mm horizontally, providing a broader visual and physical footprint. A new two-spoke steering wheel shares its grip profile with the Xiaomi SU7, while hidden mechanical air vents maintain a clean dashboard appearance without sacrificing precise manual adjustment.

A threaded accessory port provides 27W fast charging for phone mounts, action cameras, and similar accessories.

On the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Series, 95% of high-touch interior surfaces are soft-wrapped, covering up to 32 m²—far exceeding the class average and virtually eliminating hard plastic from hand, elbow, shoulder, and knee contact zones.

The entire 32 m² interior carries OEKO-TEX® certification, applying infant-grade safety standards to the cabin. Infants under three years old can touch every surface without risk of allergy or harmful substance migration.

The front and second-row seatbacks of the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Series feature a 12-layer comfort structure designed to create a “big sofa” feel. Front seats come standard with 16-point massage, ventilation, and heating, while up to four zero-gravity seats are available depending on the trim.

3. Extensive Personalization Options—A Way to Express Every Aesthetic

Since Xiaomi EV’s automotive debut, its distinctive approach to color has produced a range of finishes that have attracted strong market interest. For the SkyNomad Series, Xiaomi introduces two new exterior colors—Mountain Green and Valley Blue—alongside the classic Volcanic Gray.

Mountain Green: Inspired by the color philosophy of ink wash painting, this muted blue-green evokes mountains covered in mist—soft yet resolute, and verdant without being overly vivid.

Valley Blue: A layered color inspired by natural wonder, spiritual vitality, and cultural metaphor, reflecting the clear, ethereal blue of a mountain stream deep within a secluded valley.

Volcanic Gray: Derived from the original hue of dormant volcanic rock veins, this high-purity gray is enhanced with nanoscale mineral particles to create a refined, layered metallic texture that changes under different lighting conditions.

Inside, customers can choose between Cream Beige and Mocha Brown, two nature-inspired premium finishing styles designed for different aesthetic preferences.

Cream Beige: A fine sand-beige base accented with chestnut brown creates a low-saturation, soft-textured environment with an open and serene atmosphere reminiscent of the wilderness.

  • Mocha Brown: Inspired by the natural color of deep-valley soil and paired with light ash-wood grain reminiscent of Nordic ash, the finish transforms the cabin into a mobile forest retreat.

The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max offers 21-inch Prism-shaped Rims as standard, with optional 21-inch Beam-shaped Rims for a luxury-oriented appearance and 21-inch Starburst-shaped Rims Stealth Black Edition for a sportier look.

Bridgestone quiet-tuned tires are standard across the range.

Space: Redefining What an SUV Interior Can Do

Xiaomi’s approach begins with a simple question: Why should people adapt to the space instead of the space adapting to them?

Traditional large SUVs typically prioritize exterior styling, powertrain, and chassis architecture first, leaving the remaining space for passengers and cargo. This can result in fixed seat orientations, uneven fold-flat surfaces, and insufficient room for passengers and luggage.

The Xiaomi Kunlun Platform reverses this process by first defining what the interior needs to accomplish, then engineering the vehicle architecture around those requirements.

1. Xiaomi Kunlun Platform—Built Specifically for Space

The Xiaomi Kunlun Platform optimizes vehicle packaging across three axes to minimize structural intrusion into the cabin.

X-Axis—Front Cabin Integration Frees Interior Space

A five-in-one EREV system, integrated water-cooling module, integrated refrigerant module, mid-mounted HVAC unit, and PTC-compressor two-in-one system compress the front cabin length to just 1,265 mm.

Every millimeter saved at the front translates into additional usable cabin space.

Y-Axis—Third-Row Wheel-Arch Optimization

Springs and shock absorbers use a split layout that frees 15 mm of wheel-arch height for the third row compared with traditional large SUVs.

Moving the shock absorbers outward through a shallow-angle installation further optimizes wheel-arch packaging. Combined with a redesigned third-row HVAC duct system, the result is a more squared-off and fully usable cabin.

Z-Axis—Eliminating the Step Between the Second and Third Rows

Through its approach to rear electric drive-unit integration and rear suspension design, a highly integrated rear coaxial electric drive frees 145 mm of vertical space.

An integrated-linkage independent suspension uses an H-arm structure with the air spring positioned inside the arm, lowering the floor by another 37 mm.

The large battery pack is also redesigned, with its battery pack control module relocated inside. This reduces floor thickness by 180 mm, helping achieve a completely flat second-row floor.

The result is a flat floor extending from the first row through the cargo area, an unusual configuration in the large extended-range SUV segment.

Every structural decision within the Xiaomi Kunlun Platform works toward the same objective: creating the largest, flattest, and most flexible space possible for occupants.

2. Seating for Seven, Cargo for Seven—MPV-Level Space Inside an SUV

The Xiaomi SkyNomad Series delivers spacious seating designed to maximize passenger comfort.

The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Series provides 2,760 mm of total occupant space, with second-row legroom reaching up to 1.55 meters—enough room for passengers to fully stretch their legs.

The cargo area can expand to a maximum of 1,831 liters, enough to accommodate seven 20-inch suitcases while all seven passengers remain comfortably seated.

In the N90 Max’s Ultimate Storage Mode, the cargo area can hold up to 24 20-inch suitcases.

For family camping trips, that space can accommodate a canopy tent, camping trailer, foldable roll-up table, barbecue grill, five moon chairs, and three storage boxes while leaving room for the family to enjoy the campsite.

The cabin includes 34 storage compartments, including an 18.4-liter front passenger glovebox capable of holding seven 13-inch laptops, along with extended door-panel storage.

Up to 12 accessory ports support flexible device mounting. Rear doors open to nearly 90 degrees, providing a 1,258 mm entry aperture, low sill height, and optional electric step for easier entry and exit.

3. Fully Flat Floor, Front to Back—Maximum Space, Total Openness

A common limitation of traditional large SUVs is the step between the second and third rows and the cargo area, creating fragmented space that limits flexibility.

The Xiaomi SkyNomad Series comes standard with a completely flat floor across all trims. From the first through third rows and into the boot, the cabin features a flat floor with only a 2.95-degree slope, extending nearly three meters and providing a maximum flat area exceeding 4.4 m².

This eliminates the step commonly found in traditional large SUVs and creates a continuous, flexible interior.

Built around this flat floor are extra-long seat slide rails, reaching up to 1,938 mm on the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max, claimed to be the longest of any SUV in its class. Both the second and third rows offer up to 900 mm of travel.

The rails use aerospace-grade 7-series reinforced aluminum alloy, rated to 54 kN lock strength and 57 kN peel strength, and have been validated through 15,000 cycles without loosening or functional degradation.

A standard cabinet-style sliding center console can be deployed when needed and retracted flush when not in use. It integrates 50W wireless charging, a 9-liter compressor refrigerator capable of holding up to ten 330 ml cans upright, dual USB-C ports, and accessory expansion.

The system combines sliding, charging, cooling, storage, and connectivity in a single unit.

All seats are power-adjustable, while front seats include 16-point massage, ventilation, and heating as standard.

Front seatbacks feature an industry-leading 15-layer comfort structure, including 20 mm of zero-pressure-feel foam over a 65 kg/m³ high-density base. A three-layer cushion design balances surface softness with underlying support for greater comfort during long drives.

The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max supports four-seat zero-gravity mode across the front and second rows. Optional front-seat configurations include zero-gravity recline, creating a mobile first-class experience for rest, and rotating seats that transform the cabin into an interactive lounge for face-to-face conversations or family activities.

4. 7+N Scenarios—Change Your Seating, Change Your Space

Rather than limiting owners to a small number of engineer-defined modes, Xiaomi SkyNomad’s flexible interior is designed around real-world scenarios including rest, family time, camping, and business meetings.

Business Lounge Face-to-Face / Family Lakeside Seating

  • Front seats rotate so that the four independent seats in the first and second rows face one another, while the third row folds and slides back to provide 720 mm of legroom.
  • The third row can slide backward while the seat cushions fold upward to create an enlarged play area, transforming the vehicle into a mobile play fort for children.
  • The setup can be paired with the folding table, rear entertainment screens, and factory-installed second- and third-row sunshades.

Executive Four-Seat Business Reception / Everyday Four-Seat Travel

  • First-Class Mode: The second and third rows slide fully backward, with second-row legroom reaching up to 1,550 mm, creating a first-class-style cabin with generous legroom.
  • Second-row zero-gravity seats can also be activated, reaching a zero-gravity posture with a 128-degree hip angle and 130-degree knee angle.
  • When additional storage is required, one-touch storage mode accommodates four passengers while holding up to 16 20-inch suitcases.

Super-Size Bed for Naps / Overnight Camping

With the front seats occupied, a single touch can transform the second and third rows into a bed suitable for a midday nap or extended rest.

  • Alternatively, after flattening the second and third rows, the front and passenger seats can rotate to extend the sleeping area to a maximum length of 2,300 mm.

Maximum Cargo Mode—Your Moving-Day Hero

  • One-touch Ultimate Storage Mode creates 1,260 mm of cargo depth and maximum expanded cargo volume of 1,831 liters, accommodating up to 24 20-inch suitcases.

All Seven Family Members in Comfort

  • For everyday travel with all seven family members, passengers can ride comfortably while the cargo area still accommodates seven 20-inch suitcases—one for each passenger.

Creator’s Personal Studio

  • One second-row seat can remain in standard seating position while the other enters zero-gravity mode, creating a single-person studio configuration suitable for work and rest.

Family Camping

  • Third-row seat cushions fold upward while the backrests fold down, transforming the third row into rear-facing scenic seating that opens toward the cargo area—creating a space for the entire family to enjoy the outdoors.

Safety Above All

Safety serves as the foundation of Xiaomi SkyNomad’s engineering philosophy, with the Xiaomi Kunlun Total Safety system addressing materials, body structure, airbags, battery protection, and the safety implications of the vehicle’s variable-space architecture.

1. Armor Cage Steel-Aluminum Hybrid Body—Protecting Occupants From Every Direction

High-strength steel and aluminum alloy account for 90.4% of the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max body, with 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel used at 16 critical locations.

A 2,200 MPa embedded roll cage extending from the A-pillar to the C-pillar supports a maximum roof-crush load of nearly 14 tons and improves A-pillar load capacity by 24% in underride scenarios.

All four doors feature standard 2,200 MPa anti-collision beams, while rear doors include anti-detachment hooks.

A 13-in-1 integrated hot-formed door ring spans the A/B/C/D pillars across all three rows, improving side-impact load capacity by 19%.

A 2,000 MPa integrated hot-formed front floor frame, laser-welded from multiple high-strength steel panels and stamped as a single piece, includes 2,200 MPa reinforcement at critical points. Xiaomi says this improves occupant survival space by 9% in frontal impacts and 10% in side-pole impacts, while protecting the cabin and battery pack.

2. All-Scenario, All-Seat Protection

The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max comes standard with 12 airbags, claimed to be the most in its class, providing protection across all three rows.

Dual-chamber far-side airbags in the second row reduce head displacement for the left-side occupant by 34%. Four-point-mounted far-side airbags, compared with two-point systems, reduce driver head displacement by 24%.

Third-row side airbags, combined with a 3,200 mm side curtain, provide head, chest, and waist protection for third-row passengers. Xiaomi says the system reduces shoulder compression by 44% and average rib compression by 18% during side impacts.

Nine collision sensors—including additional front and C-pillar sensors—improve detection across more collision scenarios, including center-pole and rear-side impacts, while increasing airbag deployment precision.

Beyond standard 50th-percentile male crash-test dummies, Xiaomi’s safety development also covers 5th-percentile female dummies and dedicated second- and third-row child protection across different conditions and seating positions.

3. Xiaomi Armor Scale Battery—A High Standard for Battery Quality and Safety

Over more than five years, Xiaomi has built a 230-plus-person battery R&D team, filed 697 related patents, and established its own battery pack factory, with cumulative deliveries exceeding 700,000 vehicles.

The Xiaomi Armor Scale Battery represents Xiaomi’s end-to-end battery system. Xiaomi defines the product, leads pack design and development, participates in cell design, and manages quality control throughout the production process.
