Award-winning drummer Wolf Gemora of iconic rock band Wolfgang is set to return to the Philippines this Friday, January 9, from the United States to kick off rehearsals for the highly-anticipated Wolfgang Reunion Concert on February 7 at the New Frontier Theater. The event marks a major highlight of the band’s 30th Anniversary celebrations.

Gemora, who migrated to the U.S. after the release and promotion of Wolfgang’s fifth studio album Black Mantra in 2002, will reunite with the band for the first time in 23 years.

“I’m going back to Manila,” Gemora shared ahead of his flight. “It’s going to be four weeks of intense rehearsals for the reunion show. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to catching my favorite local bands and enjoying my favorite Filipino food.”

The rest of the band is equally thrilled about the reunion.

Guitarist Manuel Legarda expressed his excitement: “I have been and always will be proud of what Wolfgang has achieved over the years. Wolf was part of the band’s genesis, so there’s a lot of history there. We’ll be revisiting key moments from that era, and I’m looking forward to sharing the stage with him after all these years. If Mon (Legaspi, who passed away in 2022) were still with us, I’m sure he’d feel the same way. And I can’t wait for the fans who have been asking for this reunion.”

Vocalist Basti Artadi added, “I’m excited to play and sing with our fans, and hopefully take them back to a time when music was everything in their lives. Like a metal Oasis!”

Gemora was instrumental in Wolfgang’s most prolific period from 1995 to 2001, during which the band released their self-titled debut, Semenelin, Wurm, Serve in Silence, the live album Acoustica, and Black Mantra. These albums not only became best-sellers but also received critical acclaim and multiple music award nominations.

After Gemora’s departure, Wolfgang continued with Francis Aquino on drums, releasing Villains (2008) and the mini-album Ang Bagong Dugo Sa Lumang Ugat – Unang Kabanata (2012).

“We hope to see everyone at the Wolfgang Reunion Concert on February 7,” Gemora concluded before boarding his flight from Los Angeles to Manila.

When tickets went on sale on December 8 via ticketnet.com.ph, all seated sections quickly sold out. Limited tickets remain for the VIP standing area, closest to the stage, priced at PHP 5,700.

Presented by Ovation Productions with Blast TV as the official media partner, this reunion promises to be a historic night for Wolfgang fans.
