THE FIRST SEASON WILL BE TITLED HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER’S STONE
HBO Max has officially released the first teaser for its highly anticipated original series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, offering fans an exciting first glimpse into a reimagined journey through the Wizarding World.

The eight-episode first season was unveiled during the HBO Max UK & Ireland launch event and is set to premiere in Christmas 2026 on HBO, with exclusive streaming on HBO Max across its global markets, including Asia Pacific, Germany, Italy, and the UK & Ireland.
A New Generation Enters the Wizarding World
The series revisits the iconic story of Harry Potter, a boy who grows up believing he is ordinary—at least according to his Aunt Petunia. But everything changes on his 11th birthday when he receives a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, unlocking a hidden world filled with magic, friendship, and adventure.
As Harry steps into this extraordinary new life, he also begins to uncover a darker truth—one that ties him to a powerful and dangerous enemy from his past.
Star-Studded Cast Brings the Story to Life
Leading the new generation of Hogwarts students are:
- Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter
- Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger
- Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley
They are joined by an impressive ensemble cast, including John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
Additional cast members bring beloved characters to life, from the Weasley family to Hogwarts faculty and the wider wizarding world, promising a rich and immersive retelling for both longtime fans and new audiences.
A Faithful and Expansive Retelling
