Did you know that falling asleep instantly can actually be a sign of sleep deprivation?
As wellness conversations continue to evolve, more Filipinos are realizing that quality sleep goes beyond simply clocking eight hours in bed. The environment surrounding sleep—from bedroom design and mattress technology to nightly routines—plays a crucial role in how well the body and mind recover.

Recognizing the powerful connection between sleep and lifestyle, Uratex, the Philippines’ leading mattress brand, partnered with OUR HOME to bring its latest sleep advocacy to life through an immersive lifestyle event celebrating World Sleep Day.
On March 13, 2026, guests gathered at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall for the launch of “The 8 Hour Movement: A Wake-Up Call for Better Sleep.” The venue was transformed into the Uratex Country Club, a thoughtfully curated space designed to explore how sleep habits, bedroom aesthetics, and mattress innovation work together to promote healthier rest.

A Lifestyle Experience for Better Sleep
Rather than a traditional product showcase, the Uratex Country Club offered guests a lifestyle experience centered on rest and relaxation. The installation featured beautifully designed bedroom displays styled with OUR HOME furniture and Uratex linens, illustrating how comfort, design, and mattress technology can combine to create sleep-friendly spaces.
Each room vignette demonstrated how thoughtful styling, calming lighting, and well-chosen furniture pieces from OUR HOME can help transform bedrooms into serene environments that support restorative sleep.
“Sleep is often discussed in terms of hours, but the environment surrounding the bed is just as important,” shared Christian Cheng, Category Manager of Uratex. “Through the 8 Hour Movement, we want people to see how the right combination of habits, comfort, and mattress support can make a meaningful difference in sleep quality.”

For OUR HOME, the collaboration reflects its philosophy of helping Filipinos design spaces that nurture everyday living and well-being.
“Bedrooms should feel like sanctuaries,” said Glowie Robillo, Senior Assistant Vice President for Marketing of OUR HOME. “When design, comfort, and the right mattress come together, the bedroom becomes a place where people can truly recharge.”
Mattress Innovation Meets Thoughtful Design

At the heart of the showcase were curated bedroom suites featuring several of Uratex’s mattress innovations, each designed to support different sleep preferences and comfort needs.
Among the highlights was the Premium Touch Viscoluxe, which offers contouring comfort and pressure relief through memory foam technology. The Orthocare Balance caters to sleepers who prefer firmer back support, helping maintain proper spinal alignment for restorative rest.
Also featured was the Serenibed, designed with medium-firm support and enhanced with Sanitized® protection for a cleaner sleep environment. The Senso Frost mattress incorporates adaptive memory foam with cooling properties for improved temperature regulation, while the Premium Touch Cozy Latex combines breathable materials with responsive latex support to maintain a cool and uninterrupted sleep experience.
Completing the lineup were two hybrid designs. The Trill Hybrid blends the plush comfort of memory foam with the responsive support of a pocket spring system, while the Trill Seave introduces a more sustainable approach to mattress design using materials made from upcycled ocean plastics.
Expert Insights on Better Sleep
The afternoon launch program was hosted by Luane Dy and featured insights from Dr. Jimmy Chang of the Philippine Society of Sleep Medicine, who shared practical strategies for improving sleep hygiene and building healthier nightly routines.
Celebrity personalities and lifestyle influencers—including Leon Barretto, Janeena Chan, Sofia Pablo, and Sam Concepcion—also joined the discussion, sharing how they prioritize rest and reclaim their eight hours of sleep despite busy schedules.
The program concluded with a symbolic pledge supporting the 8 Hour Movement, reinforcing the campaign’s message that better days begin with better nights.
A Movement Beyond the Event
For Uratex, the initiative reflects decades of dedication to helping Filipinos achieve better sleep and healthier lifestyles. As guests explored the Uratex Country Club and discovered how environment, comfort, and mattress innovation influence sleep quality, the message resonated clearly: the foundation of productive days and overall wellness begins with the best eight hours of the night.
