Trisha Denise: Journeying Through the Magic of Songwriting

Trisha Denise, a rising Kapamilya singer-songwriter, has been making waves in the music industry with her heartfelt compositions. In a recent celebration for her EP “Simula ng Wakas,” she opened up about her journey to songwriting and the incredible opportunities it has brought her.

Trisha’s discography includes hits like “Unbreakable” for Regine Velasquez and Moira Dela Torre, “Get It Poppin” for Pops Fernandez, and “Somber and Solemn” for Belle Mariano, among others.

“It’s incredibly humbling to be entrusted with writing songs for these icons and legends. I usually just write by myself in my room, and only a few people in the studio would hear it. Then suddenly, the record label releases it. The responsibility keeps growing, but I’m so grateful for the trust they have in me,” Trisha shared during the celebration.

Originally, Trisha didn’t see herself pursuing music. She had her heart set on becoming a chef. However, everything changed when she learned to play the guitar and started writing songs. These songs opened doors to life-changing opportunities.

“When I started writing my own songs, I fell in love with it, so I pursued it through college. I also joined songwriting competitions until I landed my first published song for Janella Salvador’s debut album,” Trisha revealed.

As a recording artist, Trisha released her first single, “Mahalaga,” from the soundtrack of “Between Maybes.” In 2021, she released her debut album, “Piece of the Puzzle,” featuring singles like “Liliwanag,” “Ika’y Mamahalin,” and “Mamahalin.” Last year, she returned with her six-track EP, “Simula Ng Wakas,” which explores the theme of unpacking emotional baggage and finding the courage to move forward in life.

“This EP tells the story of having a painful past and the transformation to welcome new beginnings. It’s for people who are seeking a fresh start in their lives,” she explained.

Through her journey in the music industry, Trisha has discovered her formula for creating music: letting personal stories shine in her artistry.

“My sound is whatever raw feelings and emotions come out in my writing. It’s all about personal stories,” she said.
