TGR GT Cup PH 2023 Local Round Wraps Up: Sporting Class Leaders Advance to Nationals

National Finals to be held live at the TGR Festival at Quirino Grandstand

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has concluded the local stages of the 2023 season of its renowned TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Gran Turismo Cup (TGR GT Cup). The culmination of this exciting competition was marked by the airing of the third and final local round on August 4.

Emerging triumphant from these local rounds, the accomplished qualifiers are now poised to engage in a captivating showdown at the National Finals. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the Quirino Grandstand in Manila, this live e-racing battle is scheduled to unfold on August 24 as part of the highly anticipated TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival (TGR Festival).

During the gripping third and final round, e-racers took the virtual driver’s seat of the remarkable Toyota GR010 Hybrid, navigating the iconic Nürburgring GP track. The GR010 Hybrid presented a formidable challenge for these e-racers, featuring its dynamic four-wheel-drive racing hybrid powertrain.

Simultaneously, the Nürburgring GP track enthralled viewers through broadcast, showcasing picturesque vistas of the renowned German racing circuit. This visual spectacle was made possible by the cutting-edge graphics of the Gran Turismo 7 game, offering audiences a truly immersive experience.

David Enzo Ison once again conquered the Junior Class, coming out on top for the third round in a row. Russo Gabriel Formoso and Satoshi Jacobo Taguchi Paredes followed behind in second and third place, respectively.

In the Promotional Class, Stanley Theodore Golez emerged as champion, with Jan Rene Cortez Aldiosa in second and Benedict Salido in third.

Russel Reyes defended his first-place finish in the Sporting Class, with Jether Lugo Miole coming in second and Matthew Spencer Ang in third.

With the culmination of the local rounds, the Top 8 Sporting Class e-racers who will be competing at the National Finals was determined. Based on overall points from the three local rounds, the players who will be racing for a chance to represent the Philippines at the Asia Regional are:
