Epson proudly congratulates the winners of the 16th Epson International Pano Awards—the world’s largest and most prestigious competition dedicated to panoramic photography—while also shining a spotlight on the impressive talent emerging from Southeast Asia.

Wildebeest by Singaporean photographer William Chua, winner of The Pano Awards Southeast Asia Open Photographer of the Year 2025, captures the raw intensity of Kenya’s great migration in stunning panoramic detail.

Now in its 16th year, the Pano Awards continues to champion the art of panoramic storytelling, drawing entries from thousands of photographers across the globe. With Epson Southeast Asia joining Epson Australia as joint major sponsor in 2024, the region’s presence in the competition has grown stronger than ever.

This year, Singaporean photographer William Chua earned the Southeast Asia Open Photographer of the Year 2025 title for his stunning image Wildebeest. The photograph caught the judges’ attention with its dynamic composition and creative use of the panoramic format, capturing the power, chaos, and emotion of the iconic wildebeest migration.

“I’ve witnessed the migration countless times, and it never ceases to amaze me,” Chua shared. “In this moment, a lone wildebeest turned back amidst the frenzy—instantly, I knew that was the shot I wanted.”

Epson Southeast Asia’s Regional Managing Director Siew Jin Kiat expressed pride in the region’s achievements:
“This is our second year supporting the Pano Awards, and the strong Southeast Asian participation speaks volumes about the region’s creativity. Epson is committed to championing visual storytellers by showcasing the power of print and preserving panoramic photography in its most compelling form.”

As major sponsors, Epson Southeast Asia and Epson Australia provided high-value prizes including the Epson SureColor P5360, P5330, and P906 photo printers, along with an Epson EB-1795F projector—professional tools designed to deliver exceptional color accuracy and archival-quality output.

Southeast Asian Talent Shines Globally

This year’s entries showcased remarkable range and ambition from Southeast Asian photographers. Vietnam stood out with six of the top ten finalists in the Southeast Asia Open Photographer of the Year category—an impressive display of the country’s growing influence in panoramic photography.

Dune II by Athimeth Lerdkkitveruj, finalist of The Pano Awards Southeast Asia Open Photographer of the Year 2025.

Photographers from the region also ventured beyond local landscapes. Thailand’s Athimeth Lerdkkitveruj, for example, transported viewers to the sweeping dunes of Namibia, using light, scale, and dramatic composition to create a cinematic desert panorama.

Collectively, these finalists demonstrate Southeast Asia’s evolving mastery of panoramic storytelling, helping elevate the region’s presence on the global stage.

With Southeast Asia’s strong participation and the steadfast support of Epson Singapore and Epson Australia, the awards’ global reach has never been stronger. The diversity and technical excellence on display reaffirm the panoramic format as one of today’s most powerful storytelling mediums.”
