Singer, songwriter, and producer Cavetown (Robin Skinner) has announced the release of his eagerly awaited new album Running With Scissors, arriving January 16, 2026. Alongside the announcement, Cavetown unveils his brand-new single “Tarmac” and details of his major international headline tour for 2026.
Co-written with Orla Gartland, “Tarmac” follows the widely praised singles “Rainbow Gal” and “Baby Spoon,” offering a glimpse into Cavetown’s bold new era. The track expands his signature indie-pop sound with rich, textured layers — from grunge-inspired guitars to airy vocal harmonies and unexpected experimental flourishes that reflect his fascination with the chaos of hyperpop and the emotional intensity of post-hardcore.
Lyrically, “Tarmac” explores the fragile intersection of love and insecurity — that quiet ache between wanting something to last forever and fearing it might already be slipping away. It’s a tender yet unflinching meditation on the intrusive thoughts and doubts that accompany deep affection, a hallmark of Cavetown’s deeply confessional songwriting.
Earlier this year, Cavetown joined Pierce The Veil as a special guest on their European arena tour. During their stop at OVO Arena Wembley in London, frontman Vic Fuentes joined Cavetown on stage for a heartfelt performance of “a kind thing to do,” their acclaimed collaboration from Cavetown’s 2022 album worm food.

The forthcoming album, Running With Scissors, captures a sweeping reflection on growth, identity, and the beauty of becoming oneself. Through his intimate storytelling, Cavetown explores themes of love, masculinity, vulnerability, and connection, while also confronting the heavier realities of anxiety, self-doubt, and navigating life as a trans artist.
Threaded throughout is a raw reimagining of adulthood — one that grapples with family, memory, and self-parenting, asking what happens when we step out of our comfort zones and face our truest selves head-on. Limited edition physical formats include a black-and-blue cornetto vinyl packaged with a “Baby Spoon” flexidisc, available exclusively from Cavetown’s official store.
