With its hit mini series, “My Plantito” and “Ang Lalaki sa Likod ng Profile,” Puregold Channel has yet again produced another series that will make you fall in love, think deeper, and get excited! “Si Sol at Si Luna” is Puregold Channel’s newly unveiled star-studded series that explores grief, longing, and the uncomfortable space between connection and timing.
A joyful press conference was held on May 16 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, for the series—making a
quantum leap in Puregold’s journey as a force in Filipino digital entertainment. In this series, Zaijan Jaranilla and Jane Oineza broke loose from their child-star images for their roles that digs deep with emotional complexity and adult vulnerability a first for both actors.
Known for his role as “Santino” in the hit Drama Series, “May Bukas Pa,” Jaranilla’s role became a household name to many, so having such a daring role is a career-defining turn for the actor. In this series, Jaranilla delivers a mature performance in his first ever intimate scene—yet! But the series’ real power lies beyond the sensual scenery as it delves into sorrow, yearning, and the uneasy feeling between trying to connect and having the perfect timing as the character of Sol (played by Zaijan Jaranilla), a film student seeking creative spark, falls for the older, emotionally scarred Luna (played by Jane Oineza), their relationship forces a confrontaton with the hard truths of age, loss, and love that doesn’t fit the usual norms.
Puregold Channel is staking its claim as a powerhouse content studio with “Si Sol at Si Luna,” blending commercial value with creative boldness—where sharp writing meets honest emotion. Zaijian Jaranilla and Jane Oineza, as well as supporting members of the star-studded cast, including Joao Constancia, Uzziel Delamide, Vaughn Piczon, Lyle Viray, Jem Manicad, Marnie Lapus, and the breakout star, Atasha Franco—are all present in the press conference.
‘Si Sol at si Luna’ will drop its very first episode on the Puregold Channel on YouTube on May 31, with a new episode set to be released every Saturday thereafter.
