‘DENALI’ HEADLINE US TOUR KICKS OFF NOV 6 STOPPING IN SEATTLE, LOS ANGELES, BOSTON, NYC ANNOUNCES EUROPEAN & UK HEADLINE TOUR DATES

Portugal. The Man has kept fans on their toes all summer — first surprising everyone with the release of uLu Selects Vol. 2, then following up with the hypnotic track “Denali.” Now, the Alaskan-bred, Portland-based band returns with the long-awaited announcement of their next album, SHISH, dropping November 7 via KNIK, the band’s own imprint on Thirty Tigers.

To mark the occasion, Portugal. The Man released two brand-new singles: the soaring and soulful “Tanana,” which highlights John Gourley’s unmistakable vocals, and the high-octane “Mush,” a pulse-pounding glimpse of the album’s energy and emotion.

“‘Mush’ is about survival, connection, and ambition,” Gourley shares. “It’s about rural life — moments of danger and absurdity, like dirt bikes, smokers, gunfire, and video games. The line ‘we can be family’ pushes back against isolation, reaching for something real. That’s a theme throughout the record — build a life, support your people, buy land, and grow something lasting. The message is simple: don’t give up. Want more, and fight for it.”

He continues, “‘Tanana’ voices a generational sadness — searching for fleeting meaning in a world on edge.”

With SHISH, Portugal. The Man once again dives deep into introspection and sonic exploration. Across its ten tracks, the band embraces discomfort, vulnerability, and their signature warped pop sensibility — a sound that’s unmistakably their own.

Following the release, the band is gearing up for their Denali Headline Tour, kicking off November 6 in Portland. The tour will make stops in major cities including Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C., before wrapping up in Austin. Fans in Europe and the UK can also look forward to seeing Portugal. The Man live during their month-long 2026 tour across the continent.

The band’s rise to stardom hit new heights in 2017 with their RIAA-certified Platinum album Woodstock, driven by the explosive success of the Grammy-winning single “Feel It Still.” The track dominated the charts, spending a record-breaking 20 weeks at #1 on Alternative Radio and cementing the band’s place in modern rock history.

But beyond their music, Portugal. The Man continues to make an impact through activism and philanthropy. The group launched the Pass The Mic Foundation in 2020 to support causes tied to human rights, community health, and the environment — with a strong focus on Indigenous Peoples, including initiatives like Alaska Native Health and Seeding Sovereignty.

Their advocacy also extends to the Frances Changed My Life campaign, inspired by Gourley’s daughter, to raise awareness and financial support for families affected by rare diseases such as DHDDS. Collectively, Portugal. The Man has donated over $1 million to these and other causes.

In addition, they’ve partnered with organizations like the National Coalition Against Censorship, The Skatepark Project, March for Our Lives, Keep Oregon Well, and Protect Our Winters, among others. Their PTM’s Night Out initiative also ensures that fans with disabilities can fully experience live shows with accessible, inclusive concert experiences.

As they gear up for a new era with SHISH, Portugal. The Man proves once again that their artistry goes beyond sound — it’s a movement of music, meaning, and connection that continues to evolve with purpose.
