Overflowing with appreciation, Paulo Avelino credited ABS-CBN for the career milestone and sent out a huge shoutout to the fans who have stuck by him through every project and movie.

Pinoy talent continues to shine globally as Paulo Avelino bags the Outstanding Asian Star honor at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2026. Clad in a traditional Barong, the actor personally flew to South Korea to accept the trophy for his captivating lead role in “The Alibi”.
The award recognizes Avelino’s lead role in the romantic-mystery series “The Alibi,” which he headlined alongside Kim Chiu [i]. His win mirrors Chiu’s own international milestone, as she claimed the identical trophy two years prior in 2024. Avelino secured his win after capturing 43.63% of the final global fan tally on the Idol Champ app.
“I want to thank my home network, ABS-CBN, for the opportunity. I want to thank Dreamscape for creating the story of the show and my character. To Prime Video, for bridging Filipino stories all over the world and, most especially, to the fans who voted me, thank you so much. You’ve been there, you stuck through me, you’ve watched my shows, you’ve watched my movies, paid for the cinema, so I appreciate you, guys,” shared Paulo in his acceptance speech.
With this win, Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu join an exclusive circle of Kapamilya stars who have received this honor, including Belle Mariano (2022), Kathryn Bernardo (2023), and Daniel Padilla (2025)
