Introducing Mega Lucario Z — A Newly Discovered Mega Evolution

A powerful new form of Lucario has been revealed in the Mega Dimension DLC. Through further research, this form has been confirmed as a Mega Evolution, triggered by exposure to a Mega Stone and delivering power levels far beyond that of a standard Lucario or even the known Mega Lucario.

This new form is officially named Mega Lucario Z to distinguish it from the previously discovered Mega Lucario.

• Category: Aura Pokémon
• Type: Fighting/Steel
• Height: 4’3” (1.3 m)
• Weight: 108.9 lbs (49.4 kg)

Z Mega Evolution Makes Its Debut

While the traditional Mega Evolution system appears in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the Mega Dimension DLC introduces Z Mega Evolution, a new mechanic that allows Pokémon like Mega Lucario Z to unleash moves significantly faster after receiving commands.

However, Z Mega Evolutions also consume Mega Power at an accelerated rate, making them less suitable for long, drawn-out battles. Trainers will need to strategize and aim for swift, decisive victories.

Mewtwo Special Side Mission Now Available

Starting December 2, 2025, Trainers can obtain Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y through the Mystery Gift feature in both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Doing so unlocks Mewtwo’s exclusive side mission.

Upon completing this mission, Trainers can add the Legendary Mewtwo to their team. With the Mega Stones received via Mystery Gift, Mewtwo can Mega Evolve into:

• Mega Mewtwo X (with Mewtwonite X)
• Mega Mewtwo Y (with Mewtwonite Y)

Note: Completing the main story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A or its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is required to access this mission.

How to Access Mewtwo’s Extra Side Mission

1. Claim Mewtwonite X & Y
   • Go to Mystery Gift → Get via Internet on your game menu.
   • Check the Mega Stones pocket in your satchel to verify.
2. Visit Lysandre Café
   • Once the Mega Stones are claimed, head to Lysandre Café.
   • Certain systems within Lysandre Labs appear to reactivate when the Mega Stones are in your possession.

This mission requires an internet connection and a Nintendo Account linked to your profile. The Mystery Gift feature becomes available after approximately one hour of gameplay. Both digital and physical versions support receiving these Mega Stones.
