Max’s Corner Bakery unveils its Father’s Day lineup featuring the crowd-favorite Ube Creme Brulee Cake and Triple Treat Cake, proving that timeless Filipino flavors remain the sweetest way to celebrate dads.

QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Max’s Corner Bakery (MCB) officially introduced its Father’s Day cake lineup during an intimate family gathering held at Ruby Hall in Max’s Scout Tuazon, highlighting a collection inspired by timeless Filipino flavors and meaningful family traditions.

Rather than following short-lived dessert trends, Max’s Corner Bakery is focusing on what resonates most with Filipino families: familiar flavors, heartfelt gatherings, and desserts crafted with its signature “not-too-sweet” profile.

The campaign was inspired by a simple but powerful insight about Filipino fathers.

“Many dads express love quietly, not through words, but through showing up, providing, and bringing the family together,” said Jane Mendoza, Brand Marketing Specialist at Max’s Corner Bakery. “That insight shaped this campaign. It reminded us that Father’s Day is really about celebrating that steady presence and giving families a reason to gather around him.”

Ube Creme Brulee Cake Becomes an Unexpected Favorite Among Dads

One of the standout products in this year’s Father’s Day lineup is the Ube Creme Brulee Cake, a dessert that surprisingly gained strong support from fathers themselves.

According to Joshua Decena, Senior Business Development Manager, the cake’s popularity became evident after word-of-mouth recommendations quickly spread among customers.

“Even internally, one of the biggest surprises was how much dads themselves loved it,” Decena shared. “One of our owners even shared it with around 20 to 30 friends at his polo club, and people started calling him asking where they could order it.”

The overwhelming response reinforced the cake’s potential as a Father’s Day centerpiece for Filipino families.

The Secret Behind a Dad-Approved Dessert: Not Too Sweet

Filipino fathers are often known for avoiding overly sweet desserts. Understanding this preference, Max’s Corner Bakery designed its Father’s Day offerings around a balanced flavor profile that highlights ingredients without overwhelming sweetness.

“MCB’s product line is anchored on a ‘not-too-sweet’ flavor profile,” explained Vince Catubig, Product Marketing Officer. “We believe our Father’s Day cakes are perfectly positioned to appeal to non-dessert people, including dads, who appreciate a refined and balanced dessert.”

Catubig noted that the Ube Creme Brulee Cake achieves this balance through the natural characteristics of its ingredients.

“Real ube isn’t actually that sweet. It’s mild and earthy. When paired with the slightly bitter flavor of torched sugar on top, it helps highlight the authentic ube taste while keeping the sweetness balanced.”

The result is a dessert that feels indulgent without becoming overpowering.

Triple Treat Cake Offers Three Classic Flavors in One

For fathers who insist they are not dessert lovers, Max’s Corner Bakery also introduced the Triple Treat Cake, which combines chocolate, mocha, and vanilla into one elegant cake.

The flavor combination was carefully selected to provide variety while maintaining a sophisticated taste profile.

“It’s the cake designed for the dad who doesn’t want anything sweet, but ended up liking it anyway,” Catubig remarked.

The Triple Treat Cake caters to dads who appreciate classic flavors and subtle sweetness, making it another strong option for Father’s Day celebrations.

Honoring Filipino Traditions Through Modern Celebrations

While family celebrations continue to evolve across generations, Max’s Corner Bakery remains committed to preserving the emotional connection attached to heritage flavors.

Instead of introducing novelty flavors, the bakery chose to spotlight familiar favorites such as mocha, chocolate, vanilla, and ube.

“Heritage flavors do something novelty items can’t—they trigger a deep sense of comfort and nostalgic familiarity,” Catubig explained. “It’s a dad-centric move that honors the flavors he already loves.”

To connect with younger consumers, Max’s Corner Bakery is also embracing digital platforms and customizable message cakes that allow families to personalize their celebrations.

The brand has partnered with Gen Z content creators on TikTok to share authentic family moments and encourage meaningful Father’s Day gatherings.

“We believe family never goes out of style,” Decena said. “While the way people celebrate continues to evolve, the desire to gather and create memories remains the same.”

Making Meaningful Moments Sweeter

For Max’s Corner Bakery, innovation is not about changing its identity but finding new ways to celebrate the same values that have connected Filipino families for generations.

“For us, creativity isn’t about being different from Max’s—it’s about finding new ways to express the same values,” Decena concluded. “We always start with the same question: how do we help Filipino families celebrate meaningful moments together?”

The Ube Creme Brulee Cake is available at ₱525 for the 5-inch size and ₱950 for the 8-inch size, exclusively through in-store purchase at participating Max’s Restaurant branches nationwide.
