OPM icon Regine Velasquez-Alcasid captures the depth of a mother’s unconditional love in her heartfelt new single, “Lahat Ay Kayang Gawin,” penned by fellow OPM legend Jamie Rivera. Released just in time for Mother’s Day, the song is a touching tribute to the selfless devotion of mothers everywhere.
“As a mom, this song resonates deeply with me. It reflects the mindset I carry when embracing my role as a parent,” Regine shared. “It’s probably the most important calling I have—next to being a wife, of course.”
Jamie, also known as the “Inspirational Diva,” revealed that Regine was always her top choice to bring the song to life, inspired by how Regine embraces the joys and challenges of motherhood.
“I’d see Regine’s posts about being a hands-on mom and how proud she is of Nate’s accomplishments,” Jamie said. “Her voice gave the song so much more meaning. It became the voice of every loving mom.”
Jamie also drew inspiration from another source: the quiet sacrifices of hardworking mothers beyond the spotlight.
“I think of our household helpers who work tirelessly just to provide for their children, to send them to school and meet their everyday needs. Their love is just as fierce and unconditional,” she added.
For Regine, working on this song was not just a project—it was a reunion with a dear friend.
“Jamie and I go way back. Recording this with her brought back memories of our early days in the industry,” Regine recalled. “She’s always had a gift for writing meaningful songs, and I admire her for continuing to create music that touches hearts.”
