Homegrown motorcycle taxi platform MOVE IT is doubling down on road safety and rider excellence — this time with the help of veteran journalist and motorcycle aficionado Kuya Kim Atienza, who personally braved the brand’s rigorous six-step rider onboarding process.

Known for his passion for motorcycles and public service, Kuya Kim proved that MOVE IT’s Ka-MOVE IT gear isn’t handed out easily. In his latest Facebook vlog, he took viewers behind the scenes of the comprehensive assessment that every aspiring MOVE IT rider must pass:

- Document Screening: Complete compliance is a must — from NBI, police, and CIBI clearance to mandatory drug and health testing every six months.
- Vehicle Inspection: Every motorcycle must meet the strict roadworthiness standards set by the Motorcycle Taxi Pilot Study.
- Skills Assessment: Real-world riding drills, backriding tests, and control checks ensure riders are road-ready.
- Training & Orientation: Classroom sessions cover road safety, passenger service, and app navigation, with annual retraining required.
- Account Activation: Only those who pass all stages are cleared to go live.
- Gear Release: Riders receive high-grade safety gear — free of charge — as part of MOVE IT’s professionalization drive.

The verdict? Even a seasoned rider like Kuya Kim had to earn his place.
Kuya Kim also introduced “I-Sumbong Mo sa MOVE IT”, a new Facebook Messenger channel where passengers can easily report safety issues or share driver-related feedback. This adds to MOVE IT’s in-app ratings and “Report an Issue” feature, making the riding experience safer and more accountable for everyone.
