JEAN SEIZURE/DSML ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE “58”

Singer-songwriter Jean Seizure and Dark-pop producer DSML today release their latest single, “58”.

“58” is Jean’s second collaboration with Singaporean producer DSML. The release will be accompanied by a Music Video done in the “lofi hip hop radio – beats to relax/study to” video style, to be released in January.

Inspired by Jean’s personal experience with her much-hated exercise-induced panic attacks, 58 is a song about the aftermath – be it in relation to a physical manifestation of anxiety or an intense argument between lovers – where she’s got her heart rate down to resting and seeped deep in this eerie sense of helplessness, dread and confusion. Jean says, “I hope to capture the sense of peace fused with conflicting thoughts that weigh down on someone during the calm after a huge storm.”

DSML brings dark-pop style production to the song, emphasising the confusion and anxiety.

“58” is out on Spotify, Apple Music, deezer and other popular platforms.

ABOUT JEAN SEIZURE

Jean Seizure is a mishmash of many things. She started out as an actor at the age of six and starred in memorable roles in dramas such as The Price of Peace (1997), Stepping Out (1999), as well as short films such as Autograph Book (2003) by Wee Li Lin. She has worked as a backup vocalist for established local and international musicians such as Joanna Dong, and Jacky Cheung and is currently one-fifth of local a cappella group, The Apex Project. Jean’s debut single, Night, ranked 3rd of Spotify’s Viral 50 Singapore playlist when it was released in 2018, and is currently at 2.4 million streams on Spotify. Her works are mostly inspired by life and heartbreak and she believes that trials and tribulations are potential battle scars to be shared with people looking for a glimpse of hope.

ABOUT DSML

Singapore-based music producer David Siow aka DSML emerged into the scene in May 2020, as a way of expressing his personal trauma in the form of music production. Whilst still fulfilling his duties in award-winning indie-pop band M1LDL1FE, DSML infuses his tracks with his own brand of dark emotions and production choices. He’s already racked up 150,000 plays in his 6-month career, including collaborations with Malaysian indie-pop band Son of A Policeman, Indonesian indie-anthem rock band light craft, as well as Singaporeans GIN.GIRL, Falling Feathers, Jean Seizure, and Goose.
