IHeartPH: Deeply Embedded in the Filipino Soul

The Philippines possesses an abundance of stunning natural resources and a breathtaking environment. However, beyond its physical splendor, the true wealth of the country lies in its people. This is precisely what IHeartPh aims to celebrate – the beauty of the Philippines and its people.

As a magazine show, IHeartPh consistently uplifts the image of the Philippines and its citizens, spreading positivity and promoting love and appreciation for our country. The program also plays a crucial role in amplifying the government’s tourism campaign, “Love the Philippines!”

Hosted by Valerie Tan, who shares her deep affection for the Philippines, IHeartPh highlights the numerous reasons to love the country. Valerie states, “There are countless reasons why I love the Philippines! Firstly, our beaches are unrivaled and our natural wonders are abundant, offering endless opportunities for exploration. Secondly, Filipino cuisine is a true delight, as even the renowned Anthony Bourdain described Cebu lechon as the ‘best pig, ever.’ Lastly, the warmth and hospitality of the Filipino people are unparalleled. Filipinos are known for their kindness, warmth, and ever-present smiles.”

Having debuted on CNN Philippines in 2018, IHeartPh is now in its 8th season and continues to deliver on its promise of showcasing inspiring stories and aspirational features.

Valerie shares her enthusiasm, saying, “I relish experiencing new things and visiting new places. However, what I truly cherish is the chance to meet people from diverse backgrounds, connect with them, and share their stories with our viewers.”

IHeartPh spreads positivity and good vibes both locally and internationally. In fact, it has been selected by the Taiwanese government for their tourism promotion efforts. Serving as a regular TV program partner for Philippine promotion, IHeartPh has showcased the beauty of Taiwan on multiple occasions, most recently through the “Love Fun Taiwan” campaign.

“We are immensely proud that our show is recognized beyond our borders,” beams Executive Producer Vanessa Verzosa. “Perhaps the reason the Taiwanese government places their trust in us is because they see the show’s direction, which is to promote inspiring stories and aspirational features. Our show aligns with their goals.”

IHeartPh has gained the trust and support of both large and small companies, global and local brands, as well as notable and everyday individuals who share their stories.

Valerie adds, “Every story we feature is unique, and there’s always a valuable takeaway, not only for our viewers but also for me personally!”

As the program’s host, Valerie immerses herself in the captivating stories featured on the show and finds joy in each one. One of her most memorable experiences was visiting the Amis tribe, the largest indigenous ethnic group in Taiwan. There, she gained insight into their way of life, witnessed their fishing and cooking techniques, and even partook in their dances. Valerie shares, “It’s fascinating to note that, like us Filipinos, they have a deep love for singing and dancing!”

“Another unforgettable feature was the rags to riches story of a member of an essential oil company. It serves as a testament that our past does not define our future, and we can use the challenges we face as fuel for success.”

With eight seasons and counting, IHeartPh has firmly established itself in the hearts of Filipino viewers, continuously nurturing their love for the country. The show continues to ignite a sense of pride and appreciation among Filipinos.

“Our commitment is to present world-class visual narratives to our viewers,” says program director Jallawee Beritan. “We listen to our viewers because they deserve a program that not only pleases their senses but also touches their souls.”

“You can be assured that you will feel inspired after each episode,” quips Valerie. “No matter where our show takes us, the Philippines will always be our home.”

Produced by TV8 Media Productions, IHeartPh Season 8 airs this coming Sunday, July 16, at 7 PM on CNN Philippines. Fresh episodes will be released every Sunday at 7 PM, with replays on Tuesdays at 4:30 PM.
