The country’s leading consumer finance company makes Pride Month Makulay at Home through meaningful events and initiatives, creating a space where everyone feels welcome

Home Credit Philippines (HCPH), the country’s leading consumer finance company, continues to foster a workplace where everyone—regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression—is seen, celebrated, and empowered. In a vibrant show of inclusivity, HCPH marked Pride Month 2025 with the theme “Makulay ang PRIDE at HOME #AtHomeKaDito,” a campaign filled with powerful stories, creative expression, and meaningful community.

At the heart of the celebration was the Pride Club, HCPH’s employee resource group for LGBTQIA+ members and allies. Established in 2022, the Pride Club plays a key role in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) within the organization.

A Spectrum of Activities: Celebrating Every Shade of Pride

The month-long festivities began in May with a general assembly of over 200 employees. The event introduced the Pride Club’s new officers, celebrated its milestones, and shared exciting plans for the year. Highlights included the “I am Remarkable” workshop led by Chris Eugenio, board member and advisor of the Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP), which inspired employees to lead with authenticity and courage.

Throughout Pride Month, the Pride Club launched engaging initiatives designed to uplift stories and deepen connection:

  • Pose with Pride: A vibrant mirror installation encouraged self-reflection and celebration of individual Pride stories.
  • Express Your Pride: Employees proudly updated their social media profiles using a custom Pride blast frame, amplifying their personal journeys online.

The Pride Town Hall: Dialogue, Visibility, and Empowerment

Anchored on the messages “Makulay ang Pakikibaka. Makulay ang Pagkilala. Makulay ang Pag-ibig,” the Pride Town Hall served as a central platform for conversations on inclusion and advocacy. Guest speakers included:

  • Portia La-ab, TQACE Head and ESG Lead at HCPH;
  • Joie Cortina, queer Filipina feminist researcher and activist;
  • Arjhay Puod, human and trans rights advocate.

The event also featured the search for the next Pride Club Ambassador, where six employees shared their talents, advocacies, and lived experiences. One standout was chosen to represent the Pride Club and help lead future initiatives.

Standing Proud with the Community

The celebrations culminated with HCPH’s powerful presence at the LOV3LABAN Pride PH Festival 2025 at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Over 200 HCPH employees from Pangasinan, Cavite, and NCR joined more than 407,000 marchers nationwide in championing equality and inclusion.

“Pride Month reflects what Home Credit stands for—a workplace where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to thrive,” said Portia La-ab, ESG Lead at HCPH. “It’s not just a celebration, but a continued promise to champion DE&I every day. Through the Pride Club, we’re building a culture where every voice is heard and every shade of Pride is honored.”

A Home for All, All Year Long

At HCPH, diversity and inclusion go far beyond annual events. These values are embedded in company culture, policies, and daily operations. True to its belief—“No Small Roles, Everyone is Important”—HCPH ensures that all employees feel a deep sense of belonging.

Progressive policies reflect this commitment:

  • Inclusive benefits allowing same-sex partners to be enrolled as dependents;
  • Gender-neutral restrooms across offices;
  • Wellness leaves promoting mental and emotional well-being.

The company also undertakes regular evaluations such as the GEARS (Gender Equality Assessment, Results, and Strategies) to continuously refine its DE&I strategies.

HCPH actively partners with advocacy groups including PFIP, the Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment, further aligning its practices with global DE&I standards.
