Globe Coop brought its compassion-driven mission to life at the DSWD Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) in Lubao, Pampanga through Hearts in Hands, an employee-led initiative that blends practical support with genuine human connection for orphaned children.

Hearts in Hands at work: Globe Coop CAREavan volunteers prepared and delivered personalized gift bundles to uplift the children at DSWD RSCC Pampanga.

The activity forms part of the Globe Coop CAREavan, a nationwide outreach program powered by employee volunteers in partnership with Globe’s regional teams. Through CAREavan, Globe Coop delivers localized and sustainable initiatives designed to uplift vulnerable sectors across the country—including special children, teen mothers, fisherfolk, out-of-school youth, students, and indigenous communities such as the Mangyan and Aetas.

For the RSCC engagement, employee volunteers from North Luzon took an active role in assembling more than 100 thoughtfully curated gift bundles. Each personalized package contained a mix of daily necessities and comfort items, including age-appropriate toys, school and art supplies, clothing essentials, hygiene kits, uplifting reading materials, and soft toys or blankets that provide warmth and reassurance. Adding a deeply personal touch, volunteers also wrote handwritten letters for each child, offering words of encouragement and care meant to remind them that they are seen and valued.

Beyond addressing material needs, Hearts in Hands emphasized emotional well-being and meaningful connection. The initiative demonstrated how employee-driven efforts can foster genuine relationships with vulnerable communities by creating small but powerful moments of joy, affirmation, and belonging.

“For many of these children, even the simplest gestures can leave a lasting emotional impact,” said Racquel Marcelo, Business Head of Globe Coop. “Through Hearts in Hands, we want each child to feel the warmth of a community that believes in them. Our volunteers poured sincere care into every gift, and we hope these acts of kindness bring happiness and remind the children that they truly matter.”

Globe Coop volunteers personally delivered the gift bundles alongside RSCC staff and spent time engaging with the children through play, shared activities, and conversations. These moments helped create a welcoming and comforting environment, reinforcing a sense of safety and companionship.

Hearts in Hands reflects Globe Coop’s continued commitment to strengthening communities through compassion, collaboration, and employee empowerment. By enabling its people to take an active role in uplifting children in need, Globe Coop helps build a future where every child feels supported, valued, and cared for.
