Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has expanded its presence in the Visayas with the opening of a new World Service Center in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. Strategically located at the Ground-Air Logistics Corporation (GALCO) Complex, 2nd Floor, Unit 3, within the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Cargo Complex and adjacent to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Cebu office, the World Service Center is designed to streamline customs processing and make international shipping more efficient for customers.
The facility features on-site customs clearance processors who are available to assist customers with customs-related inquiries and documentation requirements. It also serves as a convenient shipment drop-off point, giving businesses and individual customers greater flexibility to send packages without the need to schedule a pickup.
“As Cebu continues to strengthen its position as a major hub for trade, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship, FedEx remains committed to investing in infrastructure that helps local businesses connect with global opportunities,” said Maribeth Espinosa, Managing Director of FedEx Philippines.
“The Cebu World Service Center brings our services closer to customers, making international shipping more accessible, efficient, and convenient. From established exporters to growing small and medium enterprises, customers can rely on FedEx for the expertise, connectivity, and support they need to expand beyond borders and unlock new growth opportunities,” she added.
Strengthening Cebu’s Global Connectivity
The new World Service Center complements FedEx’s existing air network in Cebu, which currently operates six inbound flights each week (Sunday to Friday) and five outbound flights weekly (Monday to Thursday and Saturday).
Together, these investments enhance FedEx’s operational capabilities across the Visayas, enabling businesses in Cebu and neighbouring provinces to enjoy faster, more seamless access to the company’s extensive global network spanning more than 220 countries and territories.
Supporting the Growth of Cross-Border Trade
As cross-border e-commerce and regional trade continue to accelerate, the opening of the FedEx Cebu World Service Center reflects the company’s continued commitment to strengthening logistics infrastructure in key growth markets throughout the Philippines.
By bringing customs support, shipment processing, and international shipping services closer to businesses and individuals, FedEx aims to help local enterprises expand their global reach while providing the speed, reliability, and connectivity needed to compete in today’s increasingly interconnected marketplace.
