It’s a grand celebration of Filipino storytelling through music as 10 original songs go head-to-head this Sunday, August 30, at 9:45 PM in the “Philippine Selection Night,” where the country’s official representative to the “Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026” will be chosen.
The highly anticipated live musical showdown will be hosted by Vice Ganda and streamed for free on iWant. Viewers can also watch the event live on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live. The competition will be available worldwide through TFC, with a delayed telecast on MYX.
Taking the stage at the New Frontier Theater, the song performers will bring the stories and emotions behind each entry to life. Performing “Between Bituin,” composed by Jungee Marcelo, is P-pop group DNA. “Tawag ng Tanghalan” alumnus SAGA will perform Angelo Gonzales’ “Broken Beyond Repair,” while Elha Nympha, Esang de Torres, Lance Reblando, and Nar Cabico will take on Nar’s entry, “Cheri(e).”
Jason Dy and Sassa Dagdag will perform Jason Marvin Hernandez’s “Di Yan (Red Flag),” while “Idol PH” alumna Ryssi Avila will deliver Hazel Faith Santos’ “Good For You.”
Also set to transform the remaining entries into captivating live performances are AJAA, performing Angelo Calucin’s “Make It Exist”; “TNT Duets” champion JM dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano, performing Jeremy G and Jungee Marcelo’s “Mapadama”; “Idol PH” Season 2 winner KHIMO, performing Stephen Tan’s “Reason to Live”; P-pop group VVINK with WRIVE Russu, performing Bojam de Belen and John Michael Conchada’s “Round N’ Round”; and “TNT: The School Showdown” winner Carmelle, performing Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides’ “Sobra-Sobra.”
The winner of the “Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026: Philippine Selection Night” will be determined through a combination of jury and public votes, with 40% coming from the jury, 40% from viewers in the Philippines, and 20% from viewers worldwide.
The winning entry will earn the honor of representing the Philippines at the “Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026” in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 14.
As the inaugural Asian edition of the long-running international television music competition organized by the European Broadcasting Union, Eurovision Song Contest Asia brings the Eurovision format to a new audience across the region.
For Filipino artists, the competition offers an exciting global platform to share the country’s rich storytelling tradition, musical creativity, and distinctive sound with audiences beyond the Philippines.
