Epson Philippines brought together media partners for the 16th edition of Fusion, its annual media thanksgiving event, held from May 28 to 30 at the scenic Misibis Bay Resort in Albay. This year’s celebration spotlighted “Forging Meaningful Partnerships”—anchored on Epson’s continued commitment to responsible innovation, sustainability, and community empowerment.

EcoSynergy: Where Innovation Meets Purpose

Kicking off the event, Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines, set the tone by introducing this year’s theme: EcoSynergy.

“EcoSynergy reflects the idea that real progress happens when innovation moves in step with shared purpose,” Kusama said. “It’s how Epson brings people, technology, and sustainability together.”

She emphasized that Epson’s philosophy of “Engineered for Good” guides every aspect of its operations—from product design and manufacturing to long-term impact.

“We focus on reducing energy use, extending product life, and choosing safer materials for the environment. ‘Engineered for Good’ reflects the role we want to play in the world.”

Celebrating Wins and Breaking New Ground

Noelle Gonzalez, Head of Marketing Division, shared key milestones—highlighting Epson’s continued market leadership across eight product categories and consistent double-digit growth. She also emphasized efforts to combat counterfeit inks, alongside the rollout of value-added services designed to elevate customer experience.

Russer Cabrera, Senior Product Marketing Manager, detailed new solutions that help businesses operate more efficiently and sustainably. These included:

  • Regional holograms to strengthen anti-counterfeit efforts
  • Expanded warranty options via the CoverPlus program
  • Enhanced education and self-ordering systems
  • Large-format printing innovations for textiles and signage, reinforcing Epson’s dominance in these segments

Fusion 16 also welcomed new leaders into the spotlight, introducing Julia Avila, Officer-in-Charge for Corporate Product Marketing, and Ash Elshawbaki, Senior Manager for Corporate & Government and Channel Sales. Their presence reaffirmed Epson’s growing investment in deepening customer and channel partnerships.

Leading with Purpose: Epson’s Sustainability Roadmap

Sustainability took center stage as EJ Sulit, Epson’s Sustainability Champion, presented the company’s ambitious environmental roadmap. Epson aims to achieve carbon-negative operations by 2050 and 100% renewable energy use across all global sites—including its largest manufacturing facility in Batangas, Philippines.

Sulit also highlighted community-based programs like the ICLEAN Project in Monreal, Ticao Island, a collaboration with WWF-Philippines. The project champions local waste management through plastic upcycling:

“Each eco-brick contains about 500 grams of plastic that might otherwise end up in the ocean,” Sulit explained. “The municipality now produces over 300 bricks per month—proving how grassroots innovation can create real environmental impact.”

Strengthening Connections Through Celebration

The three-day gathering blended thought leadership with friendly competition, as Epson executives and media partners teamed up for interactive games and team challenges. Designed to spark creativity and collaboration, these activities helped build stronger bonds while celebrating shared values.

Ed Bonoan, Sales Division Head, closed the event by thanking the media for their unwavering support:

“We are deeply grateful for your partnership and for helping us tell stories that matter.”

A Future Forged Together

Fusion 16 was more than a celebration—it was a reaffirmation of Epson’s belief that real progress happens when people, technology, and purpose align. As Epson moves forward, it remains dedicated to building a smarter, more sustainable future—powered by innovation, grounded in collaboration.
