Dreams Ascend: AirAsia Philippines Marks World Pilots Day with Extensive Pilot Recruitment Drive

Pilots, the often-unsung heroes of the aviation industry, ensure the safe transportation of millions of passengers to their destinations daily. Recognizing their indispensable role and coinciding with the often-overlooked World Pilots Day, AirAsia Philippines proudly celebrated by hosting a one-day mass pilot recruitment event.

The pandemic has significantly impacted job security across various industries, including aviation, affecting pilots among others. In response, the world’s best low-cost airline has remained committed to bolstering its pilot force, not only to meet the rising demand for travel but also to provide opportunities and fulfill the dreams of aspiring aviators. Currently, AirAsia Philippines proudly employs 138 Captains and 116 First Officers.

Continuing its commitment to making a positive impact in aviation, AirAsia held a dedicated mass pilot recruitment day for aspiring Allstars at its headquarters – Redpoint, Manila. Hundreds of hopefuls participated in the hiring event, undergoing rigorous selection processes.

“Opportunities for pilots have been scarce in recent times, especially given the challenges faced by the airline industry during the pandemic. However, we maintain a positive outlook for the future, and with travel demand rebounding, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals passionate about aviation. I am confident that this is just the beginning. With AirAsia’s significant order book of over 300 aircraft deliveries until 2035 under the AirAsia Aviation Group, there is much more to look forward to,” shared AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla.

“As part of our commitment to ‘make a difference’ here at AirAsia, we remain devoted to connecting people, places, and passions, striving to leave a lasting impact on the industry,” Isla added.

As Labor Day approaches, AirAsia Philippines is committed to honoring its more than 2,000 Allstars, all of whom contribute to flight safety beyond just its pilots. Now more than ever, amidst the challenges of the post-pandemic era and scorching heat, the airline prioritizes the well-being and support of every Allstar.
