Filipino talent and storytelling earned further international acclaim at the 2026 ContentAsia Awards on Thursday, August 27, in Bangkok, Thailand. ABS-CBN secured multiple honors at the regional event, with actress Angelica Panganiban, the movie ‘Call Me Mother’, and the adaptation ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ all taking home major awards.
Angelica Panganiban took home the Bronze Award for Best Female Lead in a TV Programme/Series Made in Asia at the event. The actress was recognized for her compelling performance as Jackie Carpio in ‘The Silent Noise’, a mystery-thriller limited series produced by ABS-CBN Studios and Prime Video.
Helmed by director Onat Diaz, the 10-episode series centers on a family whose lives fracture following the mysterious death of their deaf son’s teacher—an incident that exposes buried secrets and tests their loyalty to each other. The star-studded cast features Zanjoe Marudo, KD Omalin, Zaijian Jaranilla, Mutya Orquia, and Mylene Dizon. This ContentAsia honor follows the thriller’s recent win for Best Asian Content at the Global OTT Awards 2026 in South Korea.
Additionally, the film Call Me Mother, headlined by Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre, secured the Silver Award for Best Feature Film or Telemovie Made in Asia.
Directed by Jun Robles Lana, the comedy-drama Call Me Mother follows Twinkle (Vice Ganda), a devoted queer foster parent fighting to legally adopt her son, Angelo (Lucas Andalio). The family’s life is upended when Mara (Nadine Lustre), Angelo’s birth mother, unexpectedly reappears. Ultimately, the film serves as a moving exploration of maternal love, compromise, and what truly defines a family.
Celebrating regional success, ABS-CBN Studios secured the Silver prize for Best TV Format Adaptation (Scripted) in Asia. The accolade recognizes the Philippine version of the popular Korean series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, brought to life by a star-studded cast including Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia, and Carlo Aquino.
The story centers on Mia (Anne Curtis), a highly successful but deeply troubled children’s book author, whose life intersects with Patpat (Joshua Garcia), a psychiatric facility caregiver, and his autistic older brother, Matmat (Carlo Aquino). Together, the trio navigates their respective childhood traumas and deep-seated emotional scars, ultimately discovering a path toward healing, mutual acceptance, and romance.
ABS-CBN’s triple victory elevates its roster of talent and creative projects into the international spotlight, positioning them alongside the most prominent storytellers and media companies in the Asian region.
Highlighting the event’s vast scale, the ContentAsia Awards pulled in over 500 regional entries, culminating in 180+ nominations split among 35 competitive categories. The final shortlist was determined by a global panel of more than 100 entertainment industry experts.
Celebrating its seventh annual edition, the ContentAsia Awards honor exceptional media talent and premier video content across diverse entertainment platforms throughout the Asian region.
