Their latest single Duyan, a song about everlasting commitment, welcomes 30 couples into the married life in a ceremony led by Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto
For 30 lucky couples in Pasig, this Valentine’s Day became an unforgettable milestone. Not only did they legalize their unions through the city’s annual Kasalang Bayan, but they were also treated to an intimate live performance by the country’s beloved folk-pop band Ben&Ben.
The nine-piece band surprised the newlyweds with a heartfelt rendition of their latest single, “Duyan,” a song that originated as the wedding vow of frontman Miguel Benjamin and now carries a universal message of love, commitment, and encouragement.
“Entering this new chapter as partners and spouses is uncharted territory,” Miguel shared. “We discover strengths, weaknesses, and so much about ourselves. Every step we take is guided by unconditional love. That’s the message we hope to share with ‘Duyan.’”
Pasig City’s Kasalang Bayan offers residents the chance to celebrate a full wedding experience—complete with walking down the aisle, officiation by Mayor Vico Sotto, and a reception—without worrying about expenses. The city covers all costs, including meals for six guests per couple, ensuring a stress-free and memorable occasion.
This year, the celebration was elevated by Ben&Ben’s live performance, which included songs from their Mahiwaga Trilogy—Araw-Araw, Pagtingin, and the culminating Duyan. The trilogy explores the nuances of love and relationships, with “Duyan” serving as the emotional centerpiece. Its music video features real-life couple and actors Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos, who also appear in the previous trilogy installments.
