Lenovo and FIFA announce AI-driven tech solutions to drive intelligent operations, empower players and coaches and deliver more immersive fan experiences at FIFA World Cup 2026™.

Lenovo and FIFA have teamed up to unveil a game-changing suite of tech innovations at Tech World @ CES 2026, promising a FIFA World Cup™ powered by Lenovo AI that will redefine the fan experience like never before.

In a stunning presentation at Sphere, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang revealed groundbreaking AI-driven solutions designed to revolutionize the tournament’s operations and offer fans unparalleled, personalized experiences—whether they’re at the stadium, watching from home, or on the go. As the Official Technology Partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, set to take place across North America, Lenovo will provide the tech infrastructure powering this monumental global event.

Football AI Pro: A New Era for the FIFA World Cup™

A key highlight of the partnership is the launch of Football AI Pro, alongside Lenovo’s cutting-edge devices and services, which will underpin everything from operations intelligence to fan engagement and increasing access to the sport. One of the most exciting innovations will be the integration of digital avatars into officiating technology and match broadcasts. These 3D avatars, powered by advanced GenAI technology, will offer enhanced visual support during offside replays, providing fans with a more immersive experience by replicating the physical dimensions of players in real-time. This technology was trialed successfully at the FIFA Intercontinental Cup™ in Qatar in December 2025, setting the stage for its full integration at the World Cup.

“We are creating the next generation of AI-enabled 3D avatars to represent players as realistically and accurately as possible,” said Art Hu, Lenovo’s Chief Information Officer. “Each player’s exact physical dimensions will be incorporated, ensuring true-to-life depictions for fans and match officials alike.”

Revolutionizing Operations with AI

The FIFA World Cup 2026 represents an unprecedented logistical challenge with its expanded number of teams and matches spread across three countries. Lenovo’s AI solutions will seamlessly integrate into tournament operations, providing real-time insights through an Intelligent Command Center that monitors all activities and trends across the event. Lenovo’s technology, including digital twins of venues, will support FIFA in tracking conditions inside and around stadiums, enabling quick, data-driven decisions to optimize the fan experience.

Additionally, Lenovo’s Smart Wayfinding will create a connected, interactive map of the tournament footprint, enabling fans to easily navigate cities, venues, and fan zones using real-time data and AI-guided navigation. This feature will make moving between events smoother and more efficient than ever before.

Referee View: A New Fan Perspective

After the success of referee body cameras at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, FIFA and Lenovo are expanding the Referee View to the FIFA World Cup 2026. This feature will give over six billion fans access to a referee’s on-field point of view, now enhanced with Lenovo’s AI-driven stabilization overlay. This provides even clearer, steadier footage that will be crucial for officiating decisions and offers a unique, immersive experience for viewers.

“We’re giving fans an unprecedented look at the game from the referee’s perspective,” said Mattias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General. “This new clarity and stability in the footage will support match officials and bring fans even closer to the action.”
