Through nine years of music, milestones, and shared moments, Ben&Ben’s Spotify journey shows how songs can continue to resonate with listeners long after their release.

As Ben&Ben marks nine years in music with the release of Nine, Spotify looks back on the band’s journey through its The Come Up series, exploring how their songs have continued to reach listeners and take on new meanings over nearly a decade.
Ben&Ben’s story offers a different perspective on success. Rather than being measured by a single milestone, the band’s achievements are reflected in the lasting impact of their music, which continues to resonate through different stages of their career and their fans’ lives.

Throughout Ben&Ben’s journey on Spotify, iconic tracks have continued to connect with listeners and find new meaning across generations. In 2017, when the band was still a duo, they became one of six Philippine artists featured in Spotify’s Early Noise program, introducing their music to audiences discovering emerging local acts. A year later, “Kathang Isip” reached another milestone, surpassing 10 million streams and landing on the cover of Pinoy Chart-Toppers, helping the band reach a wider OPM audience. By 2020, Ben&Ben had become Spotify Philippines’ Most Streamed Artist, demonstrating how early discovery had grown into a stronger fan base and broader reach.
Listeners also found new ways to connect more deeply with the band and its music on Spotify. For Pebble House, Vol. 1: Kuwaderno, Spotify introduced Pebble House Corners, offering fans a virtual tour of the band house where the album was created and bringing them closer to the stories and spaces behind the songs. In 2024, Ben&Ben was recognized as a decade definer during Spotify Philippines’ 10th anniversary, reflecting the band’s lasting influence on Filipino music culture.
“Lifetime (Reimagined)” brought an earlier song into the band’s latest musical chapter, with Ben&Ben featured on the cover of Hot Hits Philippines. Now included in Nine, the track demonstrates how familiar music can create fresh connections and resonate with listeners in new ways.
“Nine years of making music has also meant nine years of growing alongside our listeners, especially the Liwanag community. We’ve seen songs we wrote years ago become part of very different moments in our listeners’ lives, sometimes in ways we never could have imagined when we first made them. NINE is both a love letter to our listeners and a celebration of our friendship. It’s such an amazing feeling to see our songs growing with our listeners and continuing to live with them,” shared Ben&Ben.
For Spotify, Ben&Ben’s journey highlights how a song can continue to thrive long after its release, reaching new audiences while gaining deeper meaning for those who have grown alongside it.
“Ben&Ben’s journey shows how a song can keep growing beyond the moment it was released. For Filipino listeners, music often becomes a way to remember a person, mark a milestone, or express something they can’t quite say themselves. Those connections give a song a reason to stay and to be shared with someone who hasn’t heard it yet. It reflects a uniquely powerful aspect of music fandom: how songs take on different meanings across stages of life while remaining part of a shared cultural experience. That’s why Spotify continues to create spaces for both discovery and deeper fan connection, helping listeners stay connected to the music and artists they love,” said Chesca Tan, Lead Editor for Spotify Philippines.
