Philippine National Pickleball Team Takes on the World Stage

From local neighborhood courts to elite international competitions, Philippine pickleball is creating expansive new avenues for homegrown athletes to showcase their athletic prowess. Marking a major milestone for the sport, the Philippine national pickleball team proudly represented the country at the prestigious 2026 Pickleball World Cup, held in Da Nang, Vietnam, from August 30 to September 6, 2026.
To fuel their campaign, B’lue signed on as the official hydration partner of the Philippine Pickleball Federation’s (PPF) national squad. The global tournament served as a premier platform to display the undeniable grit, raw talent, and fierce competitive spirit of Filipino athletes as they went head-to-head with the world’s best.
“Filipino athletes have a combination of heart, resilience, and competitiveness that really comes out when we are tested. We may not always have the same resources, training infrastructure, or years of exposure, but Filipinos know how to fight. We adapt and we don’t give up easily,” said Shery Anne Cu, president of the PPF.
Making Their Mark on the Global Stage
The Philippine national pickleball team delivered an exceptional performance at the global event, bringing home a total of six medals: four silvers and two bronzes across various singles and doubles categories. These notable podium finishes spanned men’s singles, women’s singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles, showcasing strong athletic contributions from Filipino players across multiple age brackets and skill divisions.
In the highly competitive team divisions, the Philippines secured an impressive 11th place finish out of 66 competing countries in the Open category after dominating its round-robin group and advancing directly into the round of 16.
Meanwhile, the Masters team earned 12th place out of 20 nations, with further athletic representation from Filipino competitors across the Seniors, Juniors, and Kids divisions. Combined, these stellar performances highlight the massive generational potential of pickleball in the Philippines. For the program’s youngest players, the international tournament provided critical global exposure to build upon as they continue to refine, train, and develop their game.
The Power to Keep Going
Serving as the national squad’s official hydration partner, B’lue worked alongside the PPF to support the athletes across every phase of their World Cup campaign. For the flavored vitamin beverage brand, backing this journey centers on keeping athletes completely refreshed and physically boosted as they push forward toward their next athletic milestones. With expanded opportunities to train and enter elite tournaments, Filipino pickleball players are well-positioned to build directly on their World Cup momentum, carrying their trademark grit and competitive spirit back onto the global stage in future bouts.
While the final rally in Da Nang has concluded, the ongoing work required to elevate the sport never stops. For the Philippine delegation, going head-to-head with international powerhouse teams provided a distinct blueprint of elite global play, illuminating clear paths for athletic growth and future program development.
“The Filipino edge is that our athletes don’t decide what they’re capable of based on who is standing across the net. They compete, they adapt, and they fight until the last point,” said Cu.
Preparing for the Next Challenge
With an impressive tally of medal finishes to build on and a new generation of younger athletes gaining vital international exposure, the next chapter for Philippine pickleball centers on converting this global experience into sustained local development. The national delegation’s historic run does more than just solidify the country’s athletic standing; it provides a powerful roadmap for aspiring local players, offering them a clear glimpse of exactly where their own commitment and dedication to the sport can take them.
“That’s why I believe other countries should watch the Philippines. We have athleticism, speed, creativity, and that natural Filipino competitiveness, but we also have a generation of young players coming up who are starting to get international exposure much earlier,” said Cu. “If we continue investing in these athletes and giving them the right opportunities, I believe the Philippines can become a serious force in international pickleball.”
The national team’s unwavering determination to keep improving serves as a powerful reminder that real athletic progress begins simply with showing up—both on and off the court. This relentless drive perfectly mirrors B’lue’s overarching call to Keep Going, encouraging individuals to push past limitations no matter where their next personal or athletic goals may lead.
