Comic book fans don’t have to wait much longer, as Supergirl lands exclusively on Max this Thursday. Headlined by Milly Alcock, the highly anticipated DC Studios project brings a massive stellar cast to the screen—including Jason Momoa, David Corenswet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham.
This inaugural flight into the fresh DCU rewrites the rulebook for Kara Zor-El. No longer just Superman’s cousin, this version of Supergirl is worldly, headstrong, and entirely relatable. The stakes are raised instantly when a ruthless threat forces her into an unlikely partnership for a sprawling cosmic adventure. Their ultimate goal? A desperate race across the stars to save her best friend—Krypto the Superdog. It’s an epic tale of justice versus revenge that reminds audiences that doing the right thing isn’t always pretty.
Behind the camera, the film is penned by screenwriter Ana Nogueira and helmed by director Craig Gillespie. DC Studios co-chairs Peter Safran and James Gunn serve as producers, adapting characters originally created by comic book legends Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The project’s executive production team includes Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars P. Winther.
