The Pokémon Company has officially unveiled exciting updates for Pokémon Champions, bringing the next evolution of Pokémon battles to both mobile devices and Nintendo Switch.

Mobile launch set for June 17, preregistration now open
The mobile version of Pokémon Champions is scheduled to launch on June 17, 2026, on iOS and Android platforms, with preregistration now available on the App Store and Google Play. Designed as a battle-focused experience, the game offers accessible yet strategic gameplay, allowing players to dive into competitive Pokémon battles anytime, anywhere.

With cross-platform functionality, players can seamlessly continue their progress between mobile devices and Nintendo Switch using the same Nintendo Account. The game’s base experience is free-to-play, with optional in-game purchases available.

Already live on Nintendo Switch since April 2026, Pokémon Champions also benefits from a free update for Nintendo Switch 2, ensuring smoother and more refined gameplay across platforms.

Celebrate with Mega Raichu rewards
To mark the mobile launch, players can participate in a limited-time campaign running from June 17 to September 2, 2026. By simply checking their in-game mailbox, players can claim special rewards, including Raichu, along with Raichunite X and Raichunite Y—items that unlock powerful Mega Evolutions.

With these items, Raichu can transform into two distinct forms: Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, each offering unique battle advantages and strategic depth.

New Mega Evolutions bring fresh battle strategies
Mega Raichu X enters the arena as an Electric-type Pokémon with the Ability Electric Surge, instantly activating Electric Terrain upon entry. This boosts Electric-type moves by 30% for grounded Pokémon while preventing sleep status—making it a powerful choice for aggressive, field-control strategies.

Meanwhile, Mega Raichu Y features the Ability No Guard, ensuring that all moves—both incoming and outgoing—land with perfect accuracy. This high-risk, high-reward mechanic opens up new tactical possibilities for players who favor precision and offensive pressure.

Built for competitive, connected play
Pokémon Champions is designed as a streamlined yet strategic battle experience, drawing from the depth of past Pokémon titles while making it more accessible across platforms. With internet connectivity required, the game emphasizes real-time competition and progression, supported by a robust cross-save system.

Developed by The Pokémon Works and planned by GAME FREAK alongside The Pokémon Company, the title represents a collaborative effort to bring modernized Pokémon battles to a global audience.

As anticipation builds for its mobile debut, Pokémon Champions positions itself as a fresh yet familiar battlefield—where strategy, accessibility, and connectivity come together for the next generation of Pokémon trainers.
