QUEZON CITY, Philippines — In a warm, intimate gathering that felt more like a family salo-salo than a media briefing, Max’s Corner Bakery welcomed media partners, loyal customers, and digital creators—many of whom are mothers themselves—to Max’s Restaurant Scout Tuazon last April 15 for its Quarter 2 showcase.

The event highlighted the brand’s artisanal direction for the season, unveiling a refreshed Spring colorway for its signature Mother’s Day floral cake collection. The venue was transformed into a floral-inspired space, with tulip motifs and soft pastel accents in yellow, white, and pink, echoing the design of the new limited-edition Spring Bouquet Cake.

Guests were also treated to a curated merienda spread featuring Max’s Corner Bakery’s artisanal breads, reinforcing the brand’s focus on everyday indulgence elevated through craftsmanship.

Baking Moments That Matter

The program opened with remarks from Jane Mendoza, who emphasized the brand’s continued commitment to what it calls the “Taste of Home.” She shared that the Quarter 2 direction centers on “Premium Accessibility,” aiming to make artisanal-quality baked goods part of meaningful Filipino celebrations.

“For this quarter, our vision is about more than just sweets. It is about providing a gesture that is as thoughtful and intentional as a mother’s love,” Mendoza said, underscoring the brand’s tribute to mothers as the Ilaw ng Tahanan.

The Seasonal Highlight: Spring Bouquet Cake

A key moment of the afternoon was the tasting session led by Vince Catubig, featuring the Spring Bouquet Vanilla Cream Cake. The seasonal centerpiece showcases hand-piped buttercream tulips, reimagined in a refreshed Spring palette of yellow and pink.

Catubig highlighted that while the Bouquet Cake remains a signature offering, the Spring edition is a strictly limited release available only during Mother’s Day week, from May 4 to May 10.

Guests, including media representatives and “mom-fluencers,” noted the cake’s light and balanced profile, describing its moist vanilla chiffon layers and strawberry cream filling as delicately sweet and well-suited for celebratory sharing. The design was also praised as an edible centerpiece ideal for Mother’s Day gatherings.

Expanding the Cheesecake Experience

The briefing also showcased Max’s Corner Bakery’s growing cheesecake selection, with guests sampling the Blueberry Cheesecake and a newly introduced tropical variant. The offerings highlighted a balance of creamy texture and bright fruit flavors, reinforcing the brand’s “Taste of Home” positioning.

In a teaser that drew strong interest from attendees, Vince Catubig previewed an upcoming cheesecake flavor set for release in July, along with a new Cheesecake Sampler box designed to expand the brand’s year-round gifting options.

The event concluded on a heartfelt note as guests received an 8-inch Bouquet Cake and a Mini Masterbox as tokens to bring home and share with their families.

In closing remarks, Josh Decena reflected on the brand’s identity, drawing a distinction between Max’s Restaurant’s legacy as “The House That Fried Chicken Built” and the bakery’s own evolving story as “The House That Families Built.”

He emphasized that at the center of every Filipino family is the mother, and the Spring collection serves as a tribute to her presence, warmth, and influence.
