Expert-led sessions to help clients navigate opportunities in a fast‑shifting economic landscape

Reinforcing its commitment to empowering clients with meaningful financial insights, East West Banking Corporation (EastWest) hosted a series of exclusive events across Pampanga and Metro Manila to usher in the Year of the Fire Horse with a strategic economic outlook for 2026.

Economist and UA&P professor Dr. Bernardo Villegas, feng shui expert Master Patrick Fernandez, and EastWest Bank SEVP & Wealth Management Head Raffy Algarra engage clients in a Q&A session, sharing insights on the opportunities that await in the Year of the Fire Horse.

Designed for clients from its Retail, Priority, and Corporate Banking segments, the curated sessions provided expert guidance to help participants navigate an evolving financial landscape, refine wealth strategies, and strengthen long-term financial well-being.

At the forefront of the discussions was renowned economist Bernardo Villegas of the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), who highlighted emerging opportunities amid shifting global and local market dynamics. Despite ongoing uncertainties, he underscored that the Philippines remains positioned for moderate yet steady economic growth.

“While we celebrate today, we remain mindful of the fast-paced economic landscape,” said EastWest Bank President Jackie S. Fernandez. “The markets continue to move quickly, but EastWest stands as a steady anchor—anticipating these shifts to ensure our clients and communities stay on a path of progress.”

Further strengthening its advisory capabilities, EastWest announced a strategic partnership with UA&P for the Economic Watch newsletter—a curated source of market intelligence designed to guide clients in making informed financial decisions throughout the year.

Complementing the economic outlook, feng shui expert Patrick Fernandez shared insights on how to harness the dynamic and fast-moving energy of the Year of the Fire Horse, offering a holistic perspective on navigating opportunities in 2026.

“At EastWest, being a trusted partner means providing the foresight needed to act with confidence—especially in a year defined by momentum and change,” said Raffy Algarra, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Financial Markets and Wealth Management. “Through initiatives like Economic Watch and our evolving suite of services, we remain dedicated to helping clients renew their goals and move forward with strength.”

EastWest’s leadership in wealth management continues to gain global recognition. At the 2025 Global Private Banking Innovation Awards, the bank earned Outstanding Client Experience in Wealth Management for its affluent banking arm, EastWest Priority, and Best Discretionary & Advisory Service Offering for its Trust and Asset Management Group—affirming its commitment to delivering high-quality, client-focused financial solutions.
