Lucasfilm Animation is bringing a thrilling new chapter to the galaxy far, far away with “Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord,” premiering on Disney+ on April 6, 2026. Fans can catch two episodes each week, leading up to the final pair of episodes dropping on the ultimate Star Wars holiday, May the 4th.
Set in the aftermath of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the series follows Maul as he schemes to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a remote planet untouched by the Empire. Along the way, he encounters a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may just become the apprentice he’s been seeking—an ally in his relentless quest for revenge and power.
“Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord” is the brainchild of Dave Filoni, based on the Star Wars universe and characters created by George Lucas, and developed alongside Matt Michnovetz. Brad Rau serves as supervising director, with executive producers Filoni, Athena Yvette Portillo, Michnovetz, Rau, Carrie Beck, and Josh Rimes, and Alex Spotswood as co-executive producer.
