Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision have officially unveiled theatrical release plans for Something Beautiful, the groundbreaking cinematic experience from global pop icon Miley Cyrus. The film will have special one-night-only screenings in theaters across North America on June 12 and internationally on June 27. Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 22. Fans can sign up now to receive updates and ticketing information.
The theatrical debut follows the film’s world premiere on June 6 at the Tribeca Festival in New York City.
A Visual Pop Opera Like No Other
Something Beautiful is a visionary pop opera driven by fantasy and powered by thirteen original tracks from Miley Cyrus’ upcoming visual album of the same name. For its theatrical release, the film has been exclusively mixed by Alan Meyerson (Dune: Part One, The Dark Knight) to deliver an immersive audio experience.
Creative Team Behind the Magic
Produced by Miley Cyrus, XYZ Films, and acclaimed filmmaker Panos Cosmatos (Mandy, Beyond the Black Rainbow), the film is a collaboration with Sony Music Vision, Columbia Records, and Live Nation. Direction comes from Miley Cyrus, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter, with cinematography by Benoît Debie.
“Something Beautiful is my dream project come true—fashion, film, and original music coexisting in harmony,” shares Miley Cyrus. “My co-creators are all geniuses in their own right: from the masters of sound, Shawn Everett and Alan Meyerson, to one of cinema’s most unique directors, Panos Cosmatos, serving as a producer. Each collaborator has used their expertise to make this fantasy a reality.”
Accompanying Album Drops May 30
The film release will coincide with the launch of Cyrus’ highly anticipated ninth studio album, also titled Something Beautiful, arriving May 30 via Columbia Records. The album includes 13 brand-new songs and is executive produced by Miley Cyrus and Shawn Everett.
