🌐 Platform Economy Redefines Careers

As flexible, app-based work becomes a defining global trend, Lalamove’s driver-partner ecosystem stands at the forefront of this movement. Survey data shows that 21% of Filipino driver partners previously worked in the traditional transportation and logistics industry, while 20% came from office-based and self-employed backgrounds.

This reflects a shift among many Filipinos who seek more flexible income opportunities to improve their livelihoods—and Lalamove remains a top choice for this transition.

Driving Toward Opportunity. In a recent global survey, Lalamove revealed that 75% of its driver partners have shifted from traditional logistics to platform-based work, citing benefits like flexible schedules, added income, and improved family well-being. As the platform economy grows, Lalamove continues to empower drivers across the Philippines to take control of their livelihood on their own terms

🕒 Work on Your Own Time: Accessibility Meets Flexibility

Among the global findings, 65% of Lalamove’s partner drivers cited flexibility as the top reason for joining the platform. 47% shared that being able to balance personal or family commitments alongside earning income was a major factor in their decision.

“By removing rigid hourly requirements, we empower our driver partners to take control of their time and income,” said Djon Nacario, Managing Director of Lalamove Philippines.

This flexibility not only fills delivery gaps efficiently—it also reimagines how modern work can support real lives.

💪 Driving for a Better Life

The survey further reveals that 63% of Lalamove drivers use the platform to supplement their income, helping them achieve financial stability and elevate their quality of life. Many driver partners are family men and women—63% are married, and two-thirds have children—showcasing how the platform’s flexibility plays a crucial role in meeting household needs.

For Macky Bravo, a motorcycle driver in the Philippines, Lalamove isn’t just a job—it’s a lifeline.

“Maliban sa extra income na nakukuha ko sa pagiging delivery rider ng Lalamove, nasusuportahan ko rin ‘yung pang-tuition ng anak ko at lagi ko pa siyang nakakabonding kasi flexible lang naman oras ko,” Bravo shared.

🚚 Celebrating Everyday Heroes: “Heroes Behind the Wheel” Campaign

As part of its ongoing efforts to recognize and uplift its driver community, Lalamove launched “Heroes Behind the Wheel”, a campaign that tells inspiring stories from partner drivers across its markets. From personal triumphs to community contributions, the campaign celebrates the heart and hustle behind every delivery.

“Our partner drivers are the core of every Lalamove journey,” said Nacario. “They power businesses, uplift families, and build better communities. We remain committed to providing them with the platform and support they need to thrive.”

With over 9,000 global responses, this survey reflects Lalamove’s dedication to listening to and evolving with its partner drivers, and its mission to build a more inclusive, adaptable, and meaningful delivery ecosystem.
