Star Cinema launches Zaijian Jaranilla as a movie star

Make way for Zaijian Jaranilla as he topbills Star Cinema’s new coming-of-age comedy film ‘Boyette.’

After playing remarkable characters on television since 2009, including “Santino” of the hit series ‘May Bukas Pa,’ “Noah” in the series of the same title, and “Liksi” of ‘Bagani,’ Zaijian is now launched as a new movie actor to be watched out for as the film production arm brings ‘Boyette.’

Directed by Jumbo Albano, the film follows the story of Boyette (Zaijian), a 17-year-old asthmatic gay boy who was forced to pretend as a straight guy in order to join the prestige dance club where his childhood crush, Charles, is a star dancer. Problem arises when he was likened to Nancy, the girl that Charles likes.

Will Boyette ever get the right steps toward his dream of dancing the world with Charles? Or his lies will tangle with his steps and cause his downfall?

Playing the characters of Charles and Nancy are Inigo Pascual and Maris Racal, respectively. Known by their fans as ‘MarNigo,’ ‘Boyette’ marks the first Star Cinema project of Inigo and Maris together.

‘Boyette’ also marks the directorial debut of Direk Jumbo who has been with Star Cinema as part of the creative team. He wrote some of the Vice Ganda-led blockbuster movies such as ‘Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad’ in 2017, ‘Fantastica’ in 2018, and ‘The Mall The Merrier’ in 2019.

Distributed by Cinexpress, the film will be out starting November 27, 2020 on KTX.ph, iWant TFC app and website, TFC IPTV, Cignal pay-per-view, and Sky Cable pay=per-view for Php150.00 only.

On KTX.ph, log-in and click the movie title, book a ticket and click the “checkout” button. Payment can be done using Visa, Mastercard, Dragonpay Online Banking, Gcash, Coins.ph, or Grabpay. A confirmation link will be sent to your e-mail address.
